RB787GS2BB Hotpoint Range - Instructions

We were able to purchase the part and replace it for under $25. We took off the oven door and installed the new element in under 10 minutes.

I took out the two racks from inside the oven. I then took my cordless screw driver and unscrewed the two hex bolts from the back of the oven , where the element goes through the other side. Next I went to the back of the outside of the oven and unscrewed the two hex bolts that hold the gray guard on(It covers the wires). I unplugged the ... I took the new one and inserted it into the two holes from the old element. Plugged the red and yellow wires back up and replaced the guard. Lastly I screwed the element to the rear of the oven with the two hex bolts I used before.

First I unplugged the stove. I then removed the two screws that held the element in place. I then pulled the element out about four inches to expose the connection. I disconnected the two wires, removed the element and replaced it with the new one. I then reassembled the oven in reverse order. It was very simple.

Turned power off. Removed two screws holding the element. Pulled element out 3 inches, disconnected the two wires, pulled out old element, connected wires of new element, replaced screws. Turned power back on. Eureka!! the oven heats again. :-)

After removing the screws holding the element in I disconnected the wires and attached alligator clips to the wires to keep them from pulling back inside the holes. I would have had to pull the stove out and removed some covers if they disappeared through the holes. After getting the part number off of the old element, I ordered a new e ... Removed oven shelves (30 seconds). Removed 2 screws holding broken element to oven (2 minutes). Pulled broken element assembly out & removed 2 wires attached to element (1 minute). Connected wires to new element (just push them into place) and mounted new element with the 2 screws (1 1/2 minutes). Turned on oven element to test & sinc ... First I switched the fuse to the oven had no power and then I removed the old element and wiped down the inside with a damp towel.
I then attached the new element and then used the screws to attach the element firmly into place.
I then restored power by switching the fuse back and then burned the element to remove and chemicals ... Read more and then done

Cut power to oven from breaker box. Remove two retaining screws using a nutdriver at rear of oven. Slowly pull Bake Element from rear of range exposing connector clips. Disconnect at clips from oven wiring. Connect new Baking Element to wiring connectors. Push new baking element into rear of oven. Reconnect baking element using origin ... Turned off circuit breaker, removed the two screws, pulled out the wires, unhooked the connections and hooked up the new element. Put the two screws back in, turned on the power and it worked! So, so easy! I wouldn't have attempted it had it not been for the other stories associated with the part I purchased.

replace coil 2 clips off 2 clips on........

I removed the 2 screwws inside the oven cavity and pulled the element towards me. I unplugged the wires from the element and plugged in the new one and secured it in place with the 2 screws.

Shut off electrical supply to stove.Remove 2 screws.
Slide element out enough to remove connectors from element.
Position new element.Slide connectors onto new element.
Slide element back into position.Replace 2 screws.Turn on electrical supply.

Turned off the breaker to the stove, removed oven racks, used small pair of plyers to remove bolts (2) holding defective element in place. Pulled (2) wires that had a snap connection apart. Turned on breaker and then the oven; we are now baking again.

It was real easy all I had to do was turn the breaker off,Undo two srews and disconnect the two wires. Then repeated the process to install

The replacement element came within a couple of days of our order. From the time I saw it by the front door till the repair was complete was about 10 minutes. Half the time was taken in walking to my tool box. In just a few minutes we had tested the new element and were ready to make dinner. Great value for the price.
