First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires,held wires one at a time so tehy wouln't slip back into rear holes in oven, slid off connector tabs and pushed on to replacement unit...)

Best part of buying from Parts Select was that they shipped the part the same day I ordered it, which was the Friday after Christmas. Competitor would not have shipped till the following Monday and we needed the oven ASAP!

Safety first: Turn range circuit breaker to off position. Turn a surface unit [burner] to the on position ,if no light exists power has been removed. Turn surface unit to off position. Basically very easy. Be sure to follow suggested safe practices - DO shut off the circuit breaker to the unit BEFORE starting (I didn't to start with, shorted out the heater leads - dumb on my part). The crimp fittings were stubborn coming off the old one, so it took longer than expected. Otherwise, easy peasy.

I turned off the main power! Then unscrewed the back cover unhooked the wires and unscrewed the coil inside of the oven and pulled it out. My 10yr old son and I measured it and went online to order the part. I first did go into BestBuy and they didn't have the part (But they tried to sale me a new oven!) Bent the tips so the phillament can fit inside the oven.

First unplugged it. Then removed everything in side for easy access. Took screws out 2 of them. Had to pull to removed elemnet . That took a while. Should have tried removing other screws or at less loosen them. It went in easy. And lift off we had red burner. hey..

Removed two screws and removed the oven elelent. One wire was not through the back of the stove. Ordered new element anyway. Slid stove out (slide-in model). Unplugged power. Removed two covers protecting wires on back of stove. Found wire for oven element. Had to cut and strip end of wire and use new blade clip. Crimped new clip ... Read more to wire and inserted into oven through back of stove. Replaced covers. Plugged oven element to wires and tried out oven. WORKED ! Saved new oven element for next time. Difficulty encounted was lack of knowledge on where stove was screwed into counter-top and what size blade clip to buy. It always helps to have a dog 3" away just itching to lend a paw.

The job went over without a hitch, only probably didn't get the correct part first go around, but after getting the right part everything went very easy..Just a couple of screws where the elment goes in and 2 wires to plug back into the new element, after that everything was good to go!!

The only hard part about putting in a new terminal block (and this time I had to replace the burner too, because that fried too) is stripping the stove wires, because that thermal insulation is very hard to get off. Frankly, the sane thing to do is buy a new stove, but wife is too cheap.

Instead of flipping circuit breaker, we pulled the oven away from the wall and unplugged it. Used socket wrench to loosen screws of bracket holding old element onto the back oven wall, then gently pulled element until connecting wires appeared. Removed the 'clips' attached to the old element prongs and discarded old element. Reattached ... Read more the 'clips' to new element prongs, then gently pushed prongs into back into oven wall until the bracket was flush with the wall. Used socket wrench to screw and tighten the bracket into place. Plugged in the oven and tested the new element to make sure it worked. The whole process took only a few minutes.....it took longer to clean the oven before installing the new element.

2. Removed the two hex head screws that hold element in place.
3. Pulled element out and unplugged the two electrical connectors.
4. Attached connectors to new element and attemped to push element back into the opening. It would not go in all the way.

6. I used a long thin screwdriver inserted into the two holes to push the insulation aside.
7. The element was then able to go in all the way.
8. Replaced two hex head screws.
9. Turned on range breaker.
10. Turned on oven. Works fine.

first husband removed the bolts unplugged old element wires -plugged in new element wires and but in bolts - unfortunately the oven still doesn't work not sure if element is bad or wiring, need professional help

It was surprisingly simple. All I had to do was shut the breaker off to the stove(safety first). Next open the oven door and use a flashlight just to help you see,and unscrew the two screws holding the element in place on the back stove wall. My model had a cover over the back that took six easy to remove screws. Once the back cover was off I could easily see where the element was plugged into, so i removed the wires from the end of the element(just female terminals slipped over the end) i then went back to the front of the stove and pulled to element out.

To install the new one...just guide the two ends throgh the back of the stove...install the two screws to hold it in place...go to back of stove..plug in wires(they were diff sizes so you couldnt mess it up) and put the cover back on..plug in oven..slide it back..and try it out...its that simple

I followed the way all the others on this website did the repair. It was so easy. I turned the power off to the oven, then disconnected it from the back oven wall, pulled it out a bit, disconnected the wires, and put it back in.

Now, I think I have a burner that I will replace and who knows what else I can find to do.
