RB7342A2 Hotpoint Range - Instructions

Took off the door, took out the two screws in the back of the element. Then pulled the element forward, then removed the two wires. Then put it all back together with the new element.

Ordered new burner and drip pan. New parts arrived within 3 days. Removed screw holding the hinge, removed clips from porcelain insulator, removed old burner, then installed new burner, reinstalled tilt lock hinge, replaced drip pan and ring and set burner in place. Turned off power to the oven at the circuit breaker. Pulled the old heating element from the back lower wall of the oven. Noted the position of the wires (right terminal attached to the red wire, left to the black wire). Removed small bolts holding the element to the wires using pliers. Attached the new element using screw driver. New ele ... Read more ment came with screws, not bolts. Pushed the element back into place and restored power. Tested to make sure everything worked. Everything works and I ran an oven cleaning cycle. Noticed that indicator light above the temperature selctor is always on now even when oven is in the OFF position. Not sure if that's related to the change or to the oven cleaning cycle I ran. In any case, oven seems to work normally.

Couldn't be a much simpler repair. You pull the old element off by removing two screws. Then you slide the old element toward you several inches and remove the two screws holding the wires that are attached to the old element. To replace, just do everything in reverse. Turn the stove off at the circuit breaker, or unplug the stove before you attempt the repair.

Removed oven door by holding sides and pulling upward. It's easy to remove and replace. Removed shelves by sliding back and up, then out. Removed two hex nuts with socket wrench. They are on back wall of oven and secure element to that wall. I then pulled element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two leads.

We went home and I immediately went online to your web site, inserted the old element part number, followed the ordering instructions, and in 3 dayd the new element had been delivered to our door. Made sure oven was turned off. I used nut driver to remove nuts holding old element to back of oven. gently pulled element out of wall, taking care not to yank because of wires attached to back of element. Made sure oven was off again and then used nut driver to carefully remove wire leads from receptors on element. removed old elemen ... When snugging the bolts to leads, used pliers to keep leads on the element from bending. carefully replaced wires and rear of element into the space behind oven, and used nut driver to attach the back of element to the back of oven. shut oven and turned on to make sure it worked. it did. I was very pleased with my experience with part select dot com, and will be buying another element soon to replace the one in my other oven! Thank you

Two 1/4" srews to remove the element from its mount, two 1/4" screws to remove wires and then the reverse to install new unit. Delivery was super fast and the price was half the price of the local dealers. I will certainly be a repeat customer.

I turned off the electricity, unscrewed the old one and disconnected the electric wires, then put the new one in just like the old one. It was very easy and now it works great.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires, then i connect the new element and and replaced the screwes that held it in very simple and I must say Part select was very fast at getting me the correct part the first time , they have earned ... First I read the already posted repair stories to give me confidence I could perform the repair.
Followed their steps -
Removed the two screws holding the plate to the oven.
Pulled out the element.
Removed the two screws holding the wires to the element.
Installed the new element by attaching the two screws (which ... Read more were supplied) to the element.
Reinstalled the plate to the oven.
Tested it and it worked perfectly saving a costly service call.

It was so easy. Just removed the cover and then unscrewed the wires (keep track of which wires go to which side). Do teh reverse to reinstall

Repair was as easy as one, two three. Turned off the power and removed the two screws holding the element in place. Then pulled the element out approx. 3 inches and removed the two screws connecting the wires to the element.
