First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Removed the old piece and connected the wires to the new piece. I'm a woman and this took me less that 15 minutes to complete. Easy as pie. On top of that, I received my order within 3 days! Very impressive, PartSelect. Thanks.

I removed the oven door and racks. After turning off the power I raised the old element up to be able to access the screws. I undid the two that connected the element to the back of the oven. After pulling the element forward, I undid the two screws that supplied power. I reconnected everything and, after turning the power back on, te sted the element. It worked perfectly. It has been used quite extensively since then with no problems.

Replacing a burned out oven heating element

  • Thomas from Worthington, OH
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Screw drivers
First I removed two hex nuts holding the element's faceplate to the back of the oven and pulled the entire element straight toward me a couple of inches, pulling the element's ends and connections into view. I unscrewed the two screws holding the element ends to their connections, connected the new element, pushed it back in place, and s crewed the faceplate tight again. The most challenging part of the whole process was finding the part number for the GE oven (it's on the frame of the storage drawer underneath the stove).

My husband removed the two screws that hold the element in place. He then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. He then removed the old bake unit and replaced it with the new one. He reattached the wires and pushed the element into place. Then he put the two screws back in that hold the element in place .

Made sure oven was turned off. I used nut driver to remove nuts holding old element to back of oven. gently pulled element out of wall, taking care not to yank because of wires attached to back of element. Made sure oven was off again and then used nut driver to carefully remove wire leads from receptors on element. removed old elemen t from oven and got the new element. carefully used nut driver to attach wire leads to new element. When snugging the bolts to leads, used pliers to keep leads on the element from bending. carefully replaced wires and rear of element into the space behind oven, and used nut driver to attach the back of element to the back of oven. shut oven and turned on to make sure it worked. it did. I was very pleased with my experience with part select dot com, and will be buying another element soon to replace the one in my other oven! Thank you

The first thing I did wrong was order the wrong part. Then later I did find the Model number on the side of the bottom drawer. I reordered the right part and turned off the electrical breaker. Removed the old element. I then installed the element in the oven with 2 screw nuts and pulled out the stove, took off the back panel and slipped the wire nuts onto the element. Very simple. I am really thankful there is a place to order the part and it came the next day after I ordered it. WHOW!

Heating Element Was No Longer Working.

  • Karen from Stuart, FL
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Screw drivers, Socket set
Removed oven door by holding sides and pulling upward. It's easy to remove and replace. Removed shelves by sliding back and up, then out. Removed two hex nuts with socket wrench. They are on back wall of oven and secure element to that wall. I then pulled element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two leads.

I put new element in, reconnected two leads, replace two hex nuts and was done.

Turn off power to stove at circuit breaker before starting.

Couldn't be a much simpler repair. You pull the old element off by removing two screws. Then you slide the old element toward you several inches and remove the two screws holding the wires that are attached to the old element. To replace, just do everything in reverse. One cautionary measure, even though the oven is off, there is stil l a small amount of electricity going to the element. Turn the stove off at the circuit breaker, or unplug the stove before you attempt the repair.

First I read the already posted repair stories to give me confidence I could perform the repair.
Followed their steps -
Removed the two screws holding the plate to the oven.
Pulled out the element.
Removed the two screws holding the wires to the element.
Installed the new element by attaching the two screws (which were supplied) to the element.
Reinstalled the plate to the oven.
Tested it and it worked perfectly saving a costly service call.

Repair was as easy as one, two three. Turned off the power and removed the two screws holding the element in place. Then pulled the element out approx. 3 inches and removed the two screws connecting the wires to the element.

From there I reversed the process and the repair was complete in less then 5 minutes, and I am not a el ectrician.

This was extremely easy to replace. When I told my mom I would replace it for her, she thought I was crazy. When she saw how easy it was, she finally understood. I had to remove the two screws holding the element in place. I pulled it out about 3 inches and unscrewed one screw for one wire. I didn't want to lose the wire, so I immedi ately connected the wire to the new element. I disconnected the second wire and attached it to the new bake element. Then attached the two screws putting the plate back up, securing the element. So easy! Just unscrewing and replacing 4 screws and I was done!! Took less than 10 minutes. I didn't have any real tools available, so I used a small adjustable wrench and it worked fine. The best part was it was so easy we were able to have a working oven in time for Thanksgiving!

After supper, without biscuits, I removed the element by simply removing 4 screws with my nut driver. We went home and I immediately went online to your web site, inserted the old element part number, followed the ordering instructions, and in 3 dayd the new element had been delivered to our door. Several days later we were invited to m om's for dinner once again. I quickly installed the new element (perfect fit and works great) and enjoyed a great supper........with biscuits this time. Thank you.
