RB536GW5 Hotpoint Range - Instructions

I first removed the unit by pulling gently from connection. Replaced the new one in that same manner - simply inserting into connection.

Very easy, I'll probably try it again soon.

Because of the superb pics and descriptions on the Part Select site, I was able (with NO range model number) to order the correct range element for beloved son's stove. He plugged it in in 3 seconds, works great !

I removed the screws holding the element in place and pulled it out, then pulled the wires from the element out. Very easy. When I got the new part, it seemed like it would be simple. Read more I had crossed the wires, and I'm still not sure how one is supposed to tell which wire plugs in to which holder in the oven. Luckily, I discovered that I had simply blown a fuse. Problem solved, everything works.

Removed the two screws which mount the element to the back of the stove.
The old element had screws connecting the wires to the heat element. The new element needed female electro-terms, so I crimped the appropriate electro terms on. If you need to do this make sure you use the correct electro-terms based on the wire size from the ... Read more stove.

A clearer description of how the part connected to the wires from the stove would have been helpful.

I removed the old drip pans, cleaned the range top, washed and installed the new drip pans and put the old pans, box and packing materials in the trash. In only 12 minutes my range top looked like new and the mess was picked up. Now, if I could just get the rest of the kitchen looking that good that fast!

No repairs, really-just replacement, but I have been looking for the burners for three and one half years, and PartSelect had exactly what I needed for this old stove!
Theyalso had the electric element that I bought in the next order.

We tried to find the replacement pans at the local hardware store and were disappointed in that although they were cheaper, they were not deep enough to handle the heating elements. We were delighted to find that the parts from PartSelect.Com were genuine GE parts... installed in minutes and were delivered VERY quickly!

I followed the instructions given to me in the package and all went well. I cut the old wires off the burnt terminal block, stripped the wires, installed the wire nuts with the shrink rap, installed the new terminal block and burner. The new burner is working great! Thanks

After staring at the online pictures of possible replacement bake elements, trying to count the number of squares to figure the length and width of available oven bake elements (some of the pics had listed measurement some did not), I settled on a push on element, since there were no matching screw in elements that appeared to come close ... Read more to the measurements needed. Since it was a push on, I had to drill out the holes a bit more to fit the screws which took some time and finesse. It appears to works and it at least has enabled me to put off my bigger decision of buying a newer oven for a bit.

removed the end caps from the stove panel, unscrewed the back, unscrewed the old switch, CAREFULLY noting which wire went to which terminal, removed the wires.
Reversed the process. took a little longer because I felt compelled to do a thorough cleaning while I was there.

unpluged unit then removed back panel unpluged element then took the two screws out took old element out replaced with new one put screws back plug element back in put back panel on pluged it in and started baking home made chocolate chip cookies

The very first thing we did was turned the circuit breaker off and unplugged the range.
My husband removed the back panel and unplugged the switch. Drew a diaghram of the color coded wires. I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I pulled the element out about three inches and
disconnected the two wires. The screw holes in the new element would not accommodate the old screw size so I enlarged the holes to fit. Connected two wires and replaced two screws that hold element in place. End of story.
