removed screws with from the back panel of the freezer; located defrost thermostat attached to coil with a metal clip; unplugged thermostat and replaced with the new one. Put every thing back together and it works perfectly.

My first option was to replace the defrost timer.
After still getting ice and frost buildup in freezer I decided to replace the defrost thermostat.
Remove all shelves. Losen icemaker if applicable. Remove light cover and bulb. R ... Read more emove all screws securing rear vertical cover. Carefully move back panel, disconnect icemaker and bulb assembly. carefully remove styrofoam cover at upper left and remove defrost thermostat. I tested the thermostat and found it was defective. It would not close circuit after being placed in a working freezer. Reverse procedure to replace thermostat.
This solved the problem

Loosened the screws, removed the old gasket. Cleaned contact area and installed the new gasket. Adjusted the door hinge and used a hair dryer to let the new gasket relax and seal.

Replace thermostat and show and tell made it easy.

It's still not cooling even though I can measure the temperature at the front of the evaporator coil is cold but by the end of the coil it's almost room temperature. Unplug freezer let stand all night to defrost. Remove the tray cover which is located on the upper back area inside the freezer.( 3 twist fittings remove it ). Remove the upper stainless steel panel which is secured with 6 screws. This will drop down exposing the condenser. Note all the wires and fan will stay attached to the stainless ... Read more steel panel, this panel will drop down no need to unplug anything. On the left upper side next to the condenser you will see the thermostat. Two color coded wires. Remove the thermostat and install the new one at the same location.

I followed the You-Tube instructions, removed the ice from the compressor and replaced the thermostat with the part I received from Part Select. Upluged power pulled freezer out from wall removed the two screws that holds the defrost timer unpluged defrost timer pluged new timer in mounted new timer back with the two screws pluged freezer back in and job was complete. Freezer working fine.

Followed the sites instructions. Empty the bottom part of the freezer. Remove the screws. Move the panel out of the way. Easily remove the old part and replace with the new. Put the panel and screws back in place. The freezer works.

Fan was locked up.

Watched video on Part Select which shows you how to replace the thermostat with several good pointers. Very easily done and now the freezer works great.

Replaced freezer defrost thermostat. Unit worked perfectly.

replace thermostat and timer after defrosting and cleaning out freezer. I took less than 10 minutes and now freezer has a defrost cycle that eliminates frost buildup on the coils.

I ordered a new thermostat and installed it in less than 15 minutes. Looks like the problem is fixed. Now ,the freezer cycles on and off correctly. The part was ordered on a Monday and I got it the next day. I am very satisfied.
