How to replace switch infinite control on glass cooktop?
For model number PP7030SJ2SS
PartSelect logo
Hello Donald, thank you for contacting us. To replace the infinite switch, follow the following steps: 1. Remove the cooktop from the counter. 2. Take off the knobs. They are not held on by anything, so all you have to do is lift them off. 3. Remove all the screws that hold the top to the chassis. 4. Take the top off. There is usually some tape that goes between the glass and the chassis. If it's stuck, you can use a putty knife to help break it. 5. Carefully lift up on the glass top. Make sure that all the shafts come out of the grommets. 6. Open up the panel box and swing the console to the other side. All the infinite switches are underneath the console. 7. Take a picture of the wiring so you know exactly where the wires go back on when you're ready to put the new switch in. 8. Remove the wiring harness. 9. Lower the console back down, and take off the Phillips screws that actually hold the infinite switch in. Remove the old infinite switch. 10. Put the new switch in the console and secure it with screws. 11. Connect the wiring harness. 13. Lower the console back down and put the screws back. 14. Put the glass cooktop back on. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
