PLFH1779GS2 Frigidaire Freezer - Instructions

Followed the sites instructions. Empty the bottom part of the freezer. Remove the screws. Move the panel out of the way. Easily remove the old part and replace with the new. Put the panel and screws back in place. The freezer works.

Took out three shelves. Removed 9 screws with a battery powered drill with a phillip screwdriver bit. Popped off the thermostat like I had seen on the video. Put the new thermostat on. I noticed that the two gears weren't meshing together so upon inspection I saw that one of the gears had an inner piece missing making it weak so it kept popping out away from the other great. I ordered the new gear and unscrewed the old one off and put the new one on. So easy. It made Ice beautiful after that

Removed water line. Removed two screws holding valve. Disconnected line from valve going to Ice maker. Replaced screws and water line. replace thermostat and timer after defrosting and cleaning out freezer. I took less than 10 minutes and now freezer has a defrost cycle that eliminates frost buildup on the coils.

Remove back cover (5 screws )remove valve ( 1 screw ).Disconnect in and out water lines. Disconnect wire on solenoid. Install in reverse. Dont forget to turn off water.

I ordered a new thermostat and installed it in less than 15 minutes. Looks like the problem is fixed. Now ,the freezer cycles on and off correctly. The part was ordered on a Monday and I got it the next day. I am very satisfied.

i order the defrost timer and the temperaturecontrol as was advised,it was very simple as reading the previous notes, pulled knob off, rerout temp metal probe, while the cover was off i clean it as much as i could and repainted the bottom with applince paint, looks good as new, very easy, whent to the defrost timer was so simple unscreewb ... I took 2 screws loose and undone water lines, replaced and reconnected everything. Real easy

Old part threads : made in China (brass) New part : made in Mexico (steel). First, unplugged it from the wall. As for the valve, removed the two screws holding the valve in, disconnected the plug, took the pipe cutter, cut the blue line to the ice maker, cleaned up the cut, pushed that line into the new one and reassembled. Done!

It's still not cooling even though I can measure the temperature at the front of the evaporator coil is cold but by the end of the coil it's almost room temperature. I think a repairman is called for.
