My GE Profile Microwave/Convection turntable was periodically slowly turning after I opened the door. But now, microwave doesn't heat and the turntable has stopped moving altogether. I can hear the fan going, but no heat. Sat a microwave proof Pyrex bowl in with water and ran 5 minutes on high. Temperature of water was 76.5 degrees. Could these problems be caused by defective microswitches in the door? There are 3 total according to diagrams. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Travis, thank you for getting in touch. Based on the description that you have provided, the issue is not related to the door switches. The issue is most probably with the electronic control board, part number PS12295369. It manages various microwave functions such as heating, lighting and turntable operation. We hope this information helps!

This is a GE microwave. One segment of one of the numbers in the number display does not work. Also, some of the touchpad buttons do not work, or work intermittently. To get at these parts (probably control assembly or control board), it appears that the casework covering two sides and top has to come off. It is held on with several flat head socket cap screws with a projection in the middle of the socket that prevents a normal allen wrench type tool from working. Can you be of any help?

Hi Ken,
Thank you for your question. Here is some general information that may help you with your repair. Before you begin this repair, unplug the microwave from the electrical outlet and use a Phillips head screwdriver to unthread the mounting screws securing the grill. With the screws removed, open the microwave door and slide the grill to the left to remove it. Then remove the control panel mounting screw. Next, lift the control panel up to detach it. Note the orientation of the wires connected to the back of the control board and depress the locking tabs if necessary to disconnect the wires. Then use a screwdriver to remove the screw securing the grounding wire and set the panel on a sturdy surface. Next, release the ribbon connector attached to the electronic control board and unthread the screws securing the electronic control board to the housing and remove the board. Prepare the new control board for installation by removing the protective coverings. Then make sure the switch cable is inserted through the hole in the control panel housing and then place the electronic control board into the housing. Follow the steps in reverse. Plug the microwave back in and your microwave should now work for you. If you do not find this helpful, you may need to contact the manufacturer for more information. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!
