We removed the remaining rollers, inserted the studs into the rollers and attached to the lower rack. Easy. I can't believe we put up with this for so long. We appreciate your quick service. So much easier than going shopping and waiting for the parts to come in and then having to go pick them up. Thanks for being there.

dishwasher check valve

  • ted from columbia, SC
  • Very Difficult
  • Less than 15 mins
No Plumer could help me. No one heard of a dishwasher check valve. My dishwasher was an ISA. I was lost until i found the relationship to Kitchenaid. Then sears. Vuela!
The valve was there, but unavailable.
A few more links, and the term "flapper" came up.
Well, my dishwasher check valve HAD a flapper inside. Although a p lastic pos, i could unscrew the two halves and see the flapper.
A little piece of rubber, about 1" in diameter
All suppliers gave me but two choices. One large (size given) one smaller.
After years of searching, all I needed was a flapper valve. Not the whole check valve.
I found it hear for under $10

The door dropped all the way down
8 of 10 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Dennis from GETTYSBURG, PA
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers, Wrench (Adjustable)
The repair itself was simple. I replaced the broken plastic pulley and the cable attached to the door and spring because one end was bent. I also had to remove the fitting that held the pulley in place. In order to access the spring, I had to pull the dishwasher way out and that required disconnecting the water supply, the drain tube, a nd the electrical wiring! Then I had to reconnect everything. So although the repair took less than 30 minutes, the rest of the work took a couple hours.

Replaced a badly worn & torn Gasket
6 of 6 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Martin from OCALA, FL
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
No tools required. The seal just pushes into a channel around the tub. The lower ends are held by a wire that spans the lower edge of the door. The center of the gasket is marked to agree the the tub center.l. The seal just pulls out so I removed it and the wire. Cleaned the seal channel and wire and installed the new seal starting at the Top center and working down to. the lower ends are anchored,I found the center of the seal and upper channel and pushed it in place and worked around the corners and down. It took longer to clean the channel and door than to install the gasket.

Wheels kept falling off the dishwasher rack
6 of 6 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Susan from Silver Spring, MD
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
This is one of those things that after you do it, you wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Installation was a snap - literally. All I did was remove the wheels from the bottom dishwasher drawer (they didn't stay on anyway...and one had fallen off mid-wash and melted). I was able to re-use the wheels and simply snap in the new axels - wh ich have a far superior design. I ordered a couple extra wheels to replace the one that melted and to have on hand...just in case. Delivery was incredibly fast - I received the parts the day after I placed the order. Why didn't I do it sooner?!

White latch on soap dispenser broken- would not latch
6 of 7 people found this instruction helpful.
  • David from Stamford, CT
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
The first posted instruction is dead on (except there are 14 phillips screws (not 10) on inside of door. Also, when reconnecting the 2" quick connect, make sure it is fully inserted - otherwise the numbers on the display panel will not show correctly. Mine didn't the first time, and I had to re-open the door panel and giggle around with the connection to get the numbers to display properly.

Water Leaking
8 of 13 people found this instruction helpful.
  • John from Lady Lake, FL
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers, Socket set
First of all the part I ordered came a lot sooner than expected.
I thought it would take 5 to 10 days.
I ordered it on a Tuesday and it was at my door on Thursday.
The part was difficult to take off as this was the first time I attempted this.
When the new part came, I saw that I went to too much trouble to take the ol d one off.
It was installed in about 40 minutes and we were off and running.

The inlet pump stop working
5 of 5 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Vanessa from FT WASHINGTON, MD
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 1- 2 hours
  • Pliers, Screw drivers, Socket set, Wrench (Adjustable), Wrench set
Received part, removed lower panel and shut water and power off to appliance. Used flash light to see under dishwasher, removed the two screws that held part in place. Loosed clamp that held the water tube in place to part. Placed towel down to catch water. Pulled the line out so I could get to the nut that is attached to inlet part. U nhooked the plug after all water was gotten up. The main knuckle that's attached to the pump was on so tight that I took it to my local gas station for an mechanic to unscrew it for me....I have arthritis in my hands. Station is only two mins from me and wasn't a problem for them to do for me. Came back put fresh Teflon tape on joint and reattached it to new part. Attached all hoses and clamps, plugged electrical prongs back in and attached bracket back to body of dishwasher. Turned water on and checked for leaks. Turned power back on and ran a cycle of dishes to wash....all went well. If the knuckle was on so tight the job would have only taken about 40 min at best.
