Interior Light Would Not Turn Off
  • Thomas from Bay Shore, NY
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Screw drivers
Tape off the light button so door alarm does not go off. Take off the clear light shield and remove the light bulbs. Be careful, bulbs may still be HOT!! With Phillips head screw driver unscrew the light plate assy. Drop it down in a comfortable position. Disconnect the connector, unscrew the thermal sensor and remove light assy. Install new light assy into light plate assy. There is no thermal senor in the new assy. Snap light plate assy back into place and install the two screws previously taken out. Install bulbs and clear cover. Remove tape from light door switches and you are done. Lights should go on and off when door buttons are pushed in and out.

door mounted cold water tank was leaking at seam of polyethylene tank.
  • RONALD from LAKE WALES, FL
  • Very Difficult
  • More than 2 hours
  • Screw drivers
The part labeled as water tank was not pictured on web site, and when it arrived it was a large coil of plastic tubing wire-tied in an oval shape, not a blown p/e tank as original. The oval of tubing would not fit into the door compartment, because of the bulk of the actuating solenoid. No instructions were included. It was necessary to ha cksaw the steel solenoid mounting bracket off the solenoid, then contort the solenoid into the compartment to get all parts inside the cover. new connectors had to be purchased, because the the tank/tubing coil was 1/4" od, while the original tank had 5/16"od connections.

The lower shelf cracked, broke and eventually fell apart. The vegetable trays cracked.
  • James from Amherst, NH
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
The online list of parts for this appliance was printed very small and was very intimidatingly busy. Calling the Help Center proved to be our saving grace!! The woman at the Help Center was awesome. Together, we figured what pieces I needed and they arrived within 36 hours; I was extremely impressed. The replacement parts did not incl ude the accessories but we had the needed rollers and metal support bar from the original pieces and installed them readily on the new pieces. All went well and we are happy to have a functioning shelf and vegetable drawers again. I cannot stress enough how content we are and how thrilled I am with the personal service I received on the telephone.

The roller assemblies for drawers had snapped off the shelf
  • Marla from Woodland Hills, CA
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
I removed the old shelf and disassembled all the parts, removing glass shelf, bins, doors, etc. for use with the new shelf frame. Unfortunately, I hadn't been able to find all the roller assemblies from the original shelf and didn't realize that they were not considered part of the shelf frame. So, after reassembling all the pieces that I had, I still needed to order one additional roller assembly and specialty screw. Knowing this up front would have saved me a nice chunk of time and additional shipping charges. Otherwise, the repair was pretty straightforward.

Crisper Drawer Fronts Broken at Hinges
  • Frances D. from Oxford, OH
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
No installation instructions. I just took everything out of the shelf holding the drawers and figured it out myself. Unfortunately today's products are made with cheap brittle plastic. This is the second time I have ordered parts for this refrigerator from you and I am glad you are so efficient and shipped orders quickly.

The gasket on both top doors were torn
  • Walter from Carson, CA
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
I first took off a plastic trip strip which just popped off with a little pull. Then I pulled the gasket off slowly all around the perimeter of the door and snapped off the guide strip with the help of a screwdriver. I installed the gasket next first the guide strip then followed up with the pushing the gasket into the groove all around the door. Did the same procedure on the other door. The gaskets came very well packed and undamaged. It took approximately 2 weeks because one gasket was on back order. Thank you for your help with these parts. It would have cost me 3 times as much if the repairman performed this repair.
