The oven would not heat properly

  • Philip from Edgewood, KY
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins

Pulled the oven away from the wall. Removed two screws inside the oven. Pulled old heating element out. When I did I heard a loud pop and and saw smoke. I assumed the element would not be electrically live if the oven was not on. That was obviously incorrect. I pulled the plug and then completed the installation. I went to chruch o n Sunday and thanked God that I was not electrocuted. Now the oven works fine. My wife wanted the oven to die so that she could get a new alppliance, Instead I am alive.

Seriously your service was great. Your web site pointed me to the correct part, and it arrived the next day! I would definitely use your service again if I remember your name.

I learned that I could clean the window in the oven door. In taking it apart I saw that the gasket had fallen into the oven door. I found the part online, it arrived in three days. I removed the metal part of the door, removed what was left of the old gasket and put in the new one. Put the metal part of the door back on, and it was as g ood as new.

Broken drawer glide
13 of 15 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Peter J from Valparaiso, IN
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Screw drivers
As I pulled the drawer looking for a pan stored in bottom drawer the drawer glide broke. The pictures of the parts were fantastic. Not being sure of which of two parts from the photos, I ordered two parts knowing that hopefully one would be the correct one and the other would not be the part I needed. Parts arrived and it was clear whic h of the two parts would fit perfectly.

I screwed in the part, and that was it , and I was relieved that the problem was solved! I kind of feel lucky that your company is in business! The other part is fully accepted and plan to send it back in for a refund. And oh yes, I solved my appliance problem under $20.00 - unbelieveable these days!

Thank you again for beng there!

oven heating/bake element cracked

First-my daughter needed her pizza and I didn't want to even think about the cost of a new range. So she did some research online about replacement parts. Lo an behold, Partselect.com was our answer.

We received the part in a few days and replaced it with just unscrewing a few screws.. AFTER we unplugged the range. We also used a tool that I would describe as a nail remover/lifter to get the end off of the wire connection. Needless to say, we were rookies and had no experience with this type of repair and were so proud that we were able to spend less than $30.00 to fix our oven.
Thanks to Partselect.com for making it easy to do this repair on our own.

  • Michael from N. Haverhill, NH

Worst part of the job was removing the old screws that held the two old rectecles in place for the two burners I repaired. Once the screws were removed cut the wires stripped them and used the porceliean wire nuts provided with the kit. Easy job and good instructions.

The oven and ranges would not heat up and an F9 error was displaying on the Oven Screen.
7 of 7 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Jared from UNION GROVE, AL
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers, Socket set
So, the F9 error indicates a electrical power issue. First I pulled the oven out and verified I had 240 volts at my outlet.

Then I removed the fire panel over the terminal block and the issue was apparent. The nuts on the terminal block were corroded. This had cause the resistance in the connection to raise and burn up the wire to my oven plug at the terminal block.

I removed the whole back panel and everything else seemed OK visually.

1. I go new connectors for the oven plug, stripped the wires, and crimped on the new connectors.

2. The terminal block DOES NOT come with the nuts to connect the wire to the terminal block. Mine were so corroded they had to be replaced. So I went and purchased the correct ones and installed the terminal block and reconnected all the wires.

3. I applied some dielectric grease to the connections through out the process of reinstalling to prevent it from happening in the future.

Oven wouldn't heat
6 of 6 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Marcus from Columbus, IN
  • Difficult
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
I removed the two screws that held the element in. I pulled the old element out and heard a loud pop. I didn't realize that I had to turn the oven off at the breaker to change the element. It blew the breaker and melted one of the connectors to the element. The wires didnt pull through the hole so I had to pull the oven out, take the b ack panel off, replace the electrical connectors, slide the wires through the holes at the back of the oven, connect the element and put it back in, now it works fine. Remember to turn the oven off at the breaker when changing the element, it could be a shocking experience otherwise.
