KUDM0 KitchenAid Dishwasher - Instructions

I removed the dishwasher from under the cabinet. This is what took the most time. Before removing the dishwasher from under the cabinet I disconnected the drain cable to remove all the water from unit. After removing the dishwasher I tipped the unit on its left side. The replacement pump/motor assembly was put back in in reverse order. After the pump/motor assembly was replaced I replaced the door balance cable kit on the right side of the unit. Next I tipped the unit on to its right side and replace the left balance cable kit. After this all that was left was to return the unit back under the cabinet and hook up the water supply line, the drain line, and the power.

I simply pulled out the old gasket and pushed the new one in with my fingers. I had to trim about an inch off the length with a utility knife. The seal is nice and tight now and we have no more water leakage.

I watched the video and this was the easiest repair ever. Took longer to disconnect and reinstall than it did to change out the pump. Highly recommended watching the video

After I removed the button holder from the upper wash arm supply line, I put the new botton connecter in it's place. I then held the button in place, slightly bending down the water supply, while bring the wash arm, with the lower support in place, pushing the support onto the button holder. The whole thing took less than 30 seconds.

Was able to replace and repair without taking the dishwasher out. Thermostat is behind and to the left of the power junction box. Has 2 wires going to it. It is up against the bottom of tub. Hit any button 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3, fast and close door. Let it sit 15 min to run and re-set defaults. Now I have heat and dry dishes.

Replaced pump and motor. For the price of the products individually, it only made sense to do the whole thing. As someone else mentioned, much easier to remove the dishwasher and turn it on it's side to remove/replace. Disconnect 3 fittings, 3 stop devices and remove. After reading other posts I opened the dishwasher door put a support underneath it. Knowing that all the screws were not the same I carefully unscrewed them and placed them on a towel in order of extraction. I then unscrewed the screws and place the frame aside. Next I gently pulled the electrical connector to the dispensing unit off. After locating a snap tab on top on the left hand side and one underneath on the right hand side, I gently lifted the tab and the dispenser unit moved slightly forward. After gently prying the lower tab on the right hand side the dispensing unit was loose. I just reversed the process to put things back together. I was not necessary to have any help taking things apart but it was very helpful having a second set of hands when we put it back together. Lining up the screws for the door was much easier with two people. After installation, I started the dishwasher to check for leaks. Everything was fine. Very satisfied to be able to repair/replace this unit without calling a tech. If you can change a spark plug on a lawnmower you can replace a soap dispenser on a dishwasher such as mine. The silverware basket can be lifted out using an integral handle. I tossed it away when it started crumbling. When the new part arrived, I removed it from the box, and dropped into the recess in the lower section of the dishwasher. No tools required.

Unplugged unit from power source.Removed the screws fastening the interior panel to the door. Removed latch assembly from the door after disconnecting two wires to the microswitch. Removed microswitch from the latch assembly, then installed same microswitch in new latch assembly. Re-connected wires and re-installed latch assembly. Re-inst ... Shut the power to the dishwasher off. Pulled unit out from under the counter top and raised the left hand side up for easy access. Disconnected the wiring, undid the clips, turned counter clockwise and removed. Reversed the order for installation and Connected the power. Ran several cycles successfully. Problem fixed. This kit comes with the link cords and the balance wheels. I only needed the cords. I undid the set screws under the counter edge and slid the Dishwasher out from under the counter. One of the links had a broken cord and the spring had snapped to the very back of the space and was a bit hard to find. I used the good side as a guide to ... Read more see how to thread the cord correctly. I did not replace the wheels since they appeared to be in good shape and looked like they might be a bit more difficult to replace than just the cord. For a second I thought I had ordered the wrong part because the new cord's attachment point at the hinge did not look exactly like the originals but the new design worked just like the original. I did need one other person to help stretch the spring and hold the door in the best position so I could attach the cord to the hinge. It's working perfectly now and I saved the wheels in case I need them later.

I changed the Springs,Cables,Hinges (both) also changed both latches one on the door and the striker on the top of the tub. Problem still exists. Call worldpool today they never heard of this issue but if you google kitchenaid Dishwasher door pops open you get all kinds of hits.. You guys were great no problem with the parts..

Soap dispenser unit could have been repaired by pushing the plastic arm back home and adding two drops of instant glue to keep the plastic shaft in proper place. Didn't need to purchage a new unit.

Just snapped the new retainer onto the side tines. It holds the rear tines upright on the bottom dishrac.

I order a pair of wheel mounts and replaced both. Squeezed ends of plastic "plug" on the front edge of each rail (top shelf) and removed plug. slid out top shelf, snapped off old whell mounts, snapped on new wheel mounts, slide shelf back into track and re-inderted end "plugs". Done!
