this is a snap! 2 screws an a nut to tighten and it works like a charm. the filler tube in my Kenmore refer had broken off in the back. ( really bad location to put this in the beginning) if you push the refer to close to the wall you can break it off easily. remove the water line by loosing the nut and remove the hose from the fill tube ... Read more ( This assumes you have already turned of the water supply or you are standing in a large puddle)remove the 2 screws that hold the filler tube in place. pull out the old filler tube in and slightly upright motion. replace the new fill tube into the same hole and replace the screws. replace the hose and tighten the nut, turn the water back on and check for leaks your done !!

It was not complicated but it took more squeezing and reaching into the narrow space than actually removing three screws and unplugging the electrical harness. But that was all that was necessary, to install, three screws held the unit in place and re-connect the electrical harness. It saved me about $100 in labor and the inconvenience of ... take out Ice maker tray, remove three screws holding the ice maker, unplug electrical connector. Replace with new Ice maker,Ice started to fill the tray. ENJOY!!

I was able to transfer my old ice maker from my old Roper Refrigerator/Freezer into my new Whirlpool Sidekick Freezer. Everything transferred directly except for the water fill tube. I ordered one on line and simply cut it to the right length, removed the cover plate inside the freezer compartment and the little sticker from the outside. ... old ice maker. Made cutout for water chute. Plugged in
wiring harness plug. Installed new ice maker. Tightened 3 screws.

We removed three screws, unplugged the wire and then removed the old ice maker. Installed the new ice maker with the screws, plugged in the wire and shortly after that we had ice! I was nervous about this repair but it was so easy and the part was here in three days.

I replaced the old icemaker with a new one but the problem is still occurring in the new one. It only fill with enough water to make about two ice cubes

I determined that the ice cube maker was no longer heating the cubes so they could be released into the ice tray. After ordering a new unit, taking out four screws and disconnecting the quick disconnect of wires I plugged the new one in and we were back in business.

Unplugged refrigerator and turned off water supply. Loosened two top screws and removed bottom screw. Althought kit was supplied with multyple wiring harnesses the harness attached to unit was the correct harness for the model I was replacing. Removed and reused old shut off arm as replacement arms were shorter in reach then original. ... Read more Also reused bottom unit support that was removed and replaced with one screw into unit and then into side wall of freezer. Over all time less then 15 minutes. As this was a side by side ref/freezer unit their us limited space to view support screws. I used a mechanics mirror to find upper screws. This visualization made the process go much faster. Reading the other repair stories also gave me a huge confidence boost and insite in what to expect.

removed two screws and pulled part out of the unit. The local appliance store said they needed model and part # to try to identify and order the part. Loosened two top screws using a hand held mirror and screwdriver and removed a bottom screw then unplugged the unit inside. Five minutes and repair was complete. Easy as that!

Removed brokent tube fitting from the compression nut.
Removed two screws holding the fill tube. Removed and replaced the fill tube. Direct replacement, no cutting tube length. Reconnect water line to the new fill tube.......Done.
