KTM4 Frigidaire Range - Instructions

Very important first step: Turn off the circuit breaker for the range or disconnect the power cord.
I removed the oven door to make it easier to access the back of the oven; remove two screws and the door lifts off of the brackets. Removed a screw from the top of the oven that secures one end of a wire that supports the broil eleme ... Read more nt. Removed two screws that secure the broil element plate to the back of the oven. Pulled the element forward exposing the end terminals and wires. The wires are connected to the element by spade connectors. Used long nosed pliers to remove the connectors from the element. Pushed the connectors on to the new element and stuffed the ends of the element and wires back through the opening and the insulation. Reinstalled the two screws holding the element in place and the screw holding the wire in place across the top of the oven. Reinstalled the door. Took less than 30 minutes.

The range, (1988 Tappan) was givin to the church by one of our members. While using it, --after a period of time-- the wire burnt off to one of the burners. Since the couple gave us a brand new top for the stove that was still in the box, we decided to fix the stove up.
Now, with new wiring to all four burners, new shiney drip pans ... Read more and,,,,a new top, we have a very new looking stove for in our church kitchen.

This is one site that I have wrote down in my address book for any future parts to items we may need.

I order the Element and received just in 4 days. It is Real incredible. I just opened the box and replaced the burners.

When I found the part I needed there was an instructional video on how to remove broken bake element and install new bake element. This was the best video short and sweet and anyone...I mean ANYONE could do it!

Step 1- cut off the power supply (I flipped by breaker, but you could just unplug the oven)
Step 2- remove bakin ... Read more g racks
Step 3- unscrew the little metal plates inside the oven where the bake element meets the back of the oven (reserve screws for new element)
Step 4- carefully pull the bake element out until you have the wires through the holes
Step 5- carefully pull the bake element from the wire clips on both sides
Step 6- take broken element out of over and put new one in
Step 7- slide new bake element ends onto wire clips
Step 8- slide new bake element and connected wires back though back of oven
Step 9- used saved screws to screw metal plates on bake element to the back of the oven
Step 10- replace oven racks
Step 11- restore power to range
Step 12- enjoy a working oven and feel like an absolute PRO for fixing it yourself!!!!

Unplug the old element, insert the new

New part arrived, opened pkg. , Pulled drawer out. . . Snapped in new parts. . . . Done!! Saved myself $100. 00.

Turn off the electricity
Remove knob
Unscrew old switch
Lift stovetop & prop
Remove wires from switch
Remove switch
Plug wires onto new switch
Put new switch in place
Shut stovetop
Screw new switch in place
Trim knob post
Put adapter on post
Put knob back on

Removed old elements I stalled new ones

It was either fix the terminal blocks or buy a new stove. Our appliance man told us how we could do this ourselves and sent us a link. In the meantime I'd found yours, which was quite a bit cheaper and it too, came with a How To Video. Very easy!! All the parts fit and work beautifully and all for under a hundred dollars! We replaced two ... Read more terminal block, one element and all 4 drip bowls! Nice friendly service!

First I disconnected all power sources. I removed the two clock buttons and the clock/timer switch from the front of the stove. I then removed the back panel from the stove by removing 4 screws holding the panel. This I found was not necessary. The clock was accessable from the front of the stove. This access from the back did allow me to ... Read more do much needed cleaning from the back side. The front glass insert is held in place by 2 srews. After removing glass plate the clock is easily accessable. Removed two screws holding the clock in place, disconnected the two wires that supply the power to the clock, attached wires to the new clock, screwed the clock body back into the frame of the stove, and replaced the front glass panel.

Took screws out back of oven to get to connectors . Pulled old conectors off Installed new element took about 5 min. Very easy job. Also good time to clean oven .

i at first had a hard time finding the model # on this older electric stove. i did a chat with a rep from partselect.com and they sent me a web site that showed me where to look for it. that helped a lot. found it and searched on partselect.com . they had just what was needed. the purchase was easy and shipping was fast. i was worried i ... I unplugged the stove for precautionary reasons.
I then removed the two screws holding element in place with the correct nutdriver.
I then carefully pulled out the element and pulled the two female spade connectors off.
I then compared to new element and plugged the new element in.
Finally I screwed in the new elem ... Read more ent and tested the oven.
It worked again!! I would recommend running the oven for a bit before placing anything in to bake. this allows burn off of stuff on the new element.

It snapped right into the drawer, was very easy
