KSSS36MHT00 KitchenAid Refrigerator - Instructions

We removed three screws, unplugged the wire and then removed the old ice maker. Installed the new ice maker with the screws, plugged in the wire and shortly after that we had ice! I was nervous about this repair but it was so easy and the part was here in three days.

Turned off power to Frig.. Removed shelving & baskets, then removed cover concealing fan, with cordless drill & proper size bit. All work done with the same size bit. Wrote down where colored wires came from so I could put the back in the right place. Piece of cake!!

With instructions from PartSelect.com this was an easy fix. I tested the motor's electric as suggested and was satisfied that the Motor Module (WPL W10190935) would correct the problem. Read more move the 3 screws that secure the motor unit and carefully remove it (3) carefully line up the new unit, slide in place and replace the 3 screws (4) install the wire that was removed in step(1). Removed ice maker from fridge. Removed motor assembly (3) screws on cover, and (2) screws inside. Removed mold (3 screws on bottom) and replaced everything in reverse order. Referencing the info/schematics you have on your website, I unscrewed/unattached top-front panel (carefully), from behind the panel you have to detach the wires (2) from the switch, pushed "in" the switch to remove, put in new switch and attach wires to test BEFORE remounting panel. I replaced the old icemaker with a new one but the problem is still occurring in the new one. It only fill with enough water to make about two ice cubes

This was a snap. Loosened 3 screws, removed
old ice maker. Made cutout for water chute. Plugged in
wiring harness plug. Installed new ice maker. Tightened 3 screws.

These brain surgeons that charge $80.00 just to show up at my house to repair an appliance are history.

I took a chance and ordered a switch that is next to the top of the door. looked for how to remove it easily done in ten minutes works fine last long time.

I removed three sheet metal screws, unsnapped the electrical pigtail. Then snapped out knock out on new maker. Matched the electrical connection, pushed it in place. Finally set new one in place, leveled it, tightened the scews and walked away.

On my particular model refrigerator I only needed to remove one screw and disconnet the plug. I then slid the unit out. The new ice maker did not come with the plastic sled that was attached to the old unit. I removed and attached the sled to the new unit with 3 screws.

Ice maker wouldn't eject the ice often enough. After reading a few other stories, I just ordered the universal ice maker from Part Select. All I had to do was remove some of the plastic shrouds from my old ice maker and put them on the new one. I also reused my mounting brackets. The whole job took me 20 minutes.

i noticed that no water was getting to the ice maker. rather than messing around with parts, i bought the entire unit. easy to remove old one and install new one. thanks...ice started again in about an hour. unit cost less than a service call!
