Ice maker stopped working after less than six months

After checking all connections I determined the ice maker which had been replaced on 01/2007 stopped making ice. I had serviceman from a local company return and check the ice maker. He rinsed the ice maker under warm water, melting the ice build-up and re-installed the ice maker. I watched him do the re-installation, then waited for two days to see if the ice maker was functioning. Since the ice maker wasn't working, I called the serviceman, who in turn informed me that the replacement ice maker had increased in price from $170.00 to $274.00. That is when I contacted your web site, ordered the replacement ice maker.
I was totally amazed and pleased by the fast,
easy, and efficient way my order was processed and the ice maker was delivered.
I followed the instructions included with the ice maker, and installed the replacement ice maker in about 20 minutes. I can't thank you enough for the great service. I only wish I had checked my computer after the first ice maker broke down and found your web site.

I replaced the dual outlet valve and deiced the filler tube going to the ice maker. I removed the filler tube and ran hot water on it. I believe the old filler valve was leaking letting water slowly into the filler tube where it eventually froze solid.

Easy removal. Easy Plug and play install. Didn't even have to use the other wires. After install, put 4 oz of water into ice maker and wait....it didn't start making ice right away, but a couple hours later I heard the wonderful "ice dropping into the bin" sound. Worked great ever since.

The nozzle of the water dispenser broke. I ordered the part which arrived the next day. I did not use the white line, only the black. I turned the water off, then I removed the screw under the broken nozzle and cut off it off from the line. I took a new screw and cut off the top with pliers, then twisted half of a screw in the old li ne and inserted the other half in the new line and pulled the line from the bottom corner of the refrigerator and connected it to the white line under the grid. Screwed the new nozzle back to the lever, replaced the grid and turned water on.

The light would not turn on when the refrigerator door was opened

I removed the plastic portion to get to the switch and wires. I removed the old switch by disconnecting the two wires and pushing it out of its setting.

I discovered the old switch only had 2 prongs where the new switch had 3. Once I figured which 2 of the 3 prongs would light the lightbulb,
I then connected the two w ires to the correct prongs of the new switch. I pushed the new switch into its setting and replaced the plastic portion on the refrigerator. Voila, success. The refrigerator door now comes on when its door is opened.

Thanks for the having the part and getting it at our door step in 3 days.

Pulled the fridge (KitchenAid side by side) out from the wall for the 1st time in a few years and dealt with those issues. Followed the instructions which were pretty clear. I was lucky enough that I did not need to retro fit any of the connections - it was really a straight forward replacement. The ice maker and the water dispenser have never worked better. Took about an hour.

I Have a Sub Zero refrigerator, but has a Wirlpool ice maker. The ice maker has been repaired 4 times in 2009!!! A complete new ice maker one time! The repair man repaced the double outlet valve three times in 4 months. Then they had to but in a in line water filter. This solved the problem for six months. I thought the water filt er would last at lease a year. It will now be changed every six months. For some reason I get minor amounts of dirt,in my water. If a small speck gets to the double outlet valve it causes it to "weep" and the tube that fills the ice tray freezes up. Since I have watched so many times as my ice maker was repaired, it was easy to diconnect the faulty valve with 1/4 inch wrench and the water filter. Replace with the new valve and water filter. Make sure the connections are tite. Turn the water back on and in 24 hours you have ice.
