KSM97PT5 Whirlpool Mixer - Instructions

The new part was too large for the replacement job, but we used the self tapping screws that came with the mixer and screwed them in from the bottom to open the holes a little more since the original screws were to short to hold the new plate. Then we replaced the screws with longer screws and that seemed to do the trick!

had to replace the outlet strip and relocate the mounting screw,,,,wiring cord to the mixer was super correct and had to simply follow basic wiring (black to black,,,silver to silver,,,green to ground) ,,, the cord came with the correct mounting bushing already on the cord. Thx a bunch!

Removed back cover, disconnected the 2 push-on connectors, removed ground wire screw. Reversed the process to install new cord.

I watched the university of YouTube videos, and followed their instructions.

Removed three screws and lifted out old part. replaced with new part

Simple fix actually. UNPLUG mixer and remove the one screw on top that holds on the back. The Phase control board sits under and behind the paper insulator and "switch" assy. Remove the 4 wires with a pair of needle nose pliers, the one screw holding it to the back of the mixer and install the new one in reverse order.

Removed old one and replaced with new one.

Removed old plate, screwed in new plate and works like new! Was so happy I wouldn’t have to replace my 30 year old mixer.

Repair is very straight forward. Remove the existing plate by removing the three phillip head screws. Use a regular screwdriver or knife to pop the plate off. Unscrewed the existing screw cap, put the new one in place, replaced the screws. So easy!

You tube has great instructions! I would suggest when you buy a part to let customer know that they need a food grade gear grease ordered to complete the reinstall of all gears and body parts!

I watched a video on how to replace the worm gear. When I opened the mixer I noticed a small screw laying in the grease. I removed as much grease as I could and could not find anywhere that the screw would have come from. All the gears turned and looked fine so I replaced the grease put the mixer back together and it worked fine. I am ... I took apart the mixer housing and removed all the screws. The most difficult part was the two pins that needed to be removed with a metal punch. They were in fairly tight.
