and I thought replacing the hinge pin would fix it, I used an awl to push out the old pin then used the new pin to push the old one all the way out. That did not fix the problem. Went to a store to look over a new one and saw that the screw under the head at the hinge point on the new machines was not screwed in tight. Turns out that scre

Replacing the base retaining bracket(what KitchenAid calls the screw cap) solved the problem immediately. The entire replacement effort took no more than a minute requiring removing 3 screws, discarding the old base, putting in the new one, and putting the screws back in. PartSelect was very easy to do business with. They shipped the pa

Once apart, use spring clip pliers to remove snap ring. Pull out shaft and replace. Clean and lubricate as you reassemble in reverse. Google the model number to get detailed instruct

The knob was attached to the new lever. I began to disassemble the mixer case so that I could replace the lever. However, it soon became apparent that this would be a major project involving many components and potential problems in getting the unit back together. Since all I wanted was to replace the knob, I simply knocked it off the

Opened beater , removed grease , took bearing off , removed alignment pins ,pulled shaft and pinion out , replaced parts , lubricated with new grease , assembled the whole drive . do not like the plastic gear or the clearance once assembled has a lot of slop for this type of drive .

Lost a rubber foot on my Kitchen Aid mixer. The remaining feet we're hard and mushroomed. I decided to replace all 5. That was the correct decision.

I griped each foot with a pliers and twisted it out of its setting. I then set a new foot in place and hammered it into place with a small hammer. The feet fit snugly and did not need to be glued. Job was easy and mixer sits like new. I was glad I spent the money to replace all of the feet at once.
