i had used your web site before and i read several problems that your readers had. i went to the back of the unit, removed the bottom cover and right there the i found the run capacitor and i chaged it. since i had only ordered this part to save money i went back and ordered the Start Device which when i took it off it was completely burn ... Read more ed. the replacement part came labeled with 2 different compressor #, so i picked the one that i had and unpluged each wire. the part may differ from the one that it's in the unit but it worked when i pluged everything back on. it also helps to take a picture of everything before removing the wires in case you have to leave it and come back later. i hope to use this refrigerator another 10 years. thank you all for your help.

Being too lazy to pull out the refrigerator out and unplug it, I turned it off at the fuse box. Opened the freezer door and unscrewed the three screws holding the sensor. Pulled the sensor out and unscrewed the board then unpluged it and removed it. Plugged in new board, screwed it in then replaced the three screws. Repeat on the oth ... Read more er side. The most difficult part was getting to one of three screws on each side; it almost required a third hand to hold the flap door between the ice maker and the bin, while removing said screw. I must at say that this product is definitely over engineered.

Simple, turn and pull to remove. Push and turn to install.

removed old bracket and replaced with new one - two screws and it was done - simple

1. Remove the ice box
2. Unscrew the two Phillips screws on the base of the ice box compartment
3. Lift up the coupling and shaft (be careful because there is a spring between shaft and coupling and washer)
4. Remove old coupling
5. Replace with new coupling and remember to put back the spring

7. Screw back on the Phillips screws
8. Replace back the icebox

STRANGE ! to moment I installed the filter ALL the internal lights in my refrigerator went OFF and never came back.

Strange !! refrigerator works fine but no more light in it !!

It was the right part at the right time. I had ordered parts through the retailer from Whirlpool but they were not right. I found the part number on the Whirlpool website and ordered it from you. Once it came it was a thirty second fix. Thanks.

After lots of internet exploring and diagnosis, the icemaker comes right out, and with three screws out and in, the job is all but done. Don't pay anyone for this repair!!!!!

I was disappointed you have to purchase the entire Ice Bucket Assembly in order to get the upper coupling. I also ordered the two seals and washer, only to find they are included in the Chute Assembly. The Chute was a little difficult to remove and reinstall. Other than that the Ice Bucket slides right in and the Chute Assembly requires 2 ... Read more Phillips screws and 2 hex screws to be removed and reinstalled.

I just unscrewed the plate that locks in the light switch (screwdriver) and unplugged the old faulty part and plugged in the new switch, screwed the cover back on and I was done!

Easy!

And I am not Mr. Fix-it!

Lift up on the water filter door to open. Pull out the old filter while noticing the arrow pointing up on the filter. Pull off the green caps on the new filter and pop the new filter in with the arrow pointing up as on the old filter. Push in until the filter snaps into place. Close the filter door. Hold both water filter reset touch sensors down together. This will reset the water sensor indicator.

Followed the u tube directions disconnect the power to the refrigerator remove the Ice cube pan place flat head screw driver under the front tabs push in to release the tabs pull down on the light release the back tabs from housing pull the light down from the housing disconnect the plug from the burned-out diode replace with the new diod ... Read more e light and repeat the same instructions in reverse to reinstall the diode light. The diode light in the freezer controls all the light in the refrigerator and freezer all should now light up.

We removed the old switch, unplugged it, plugged the new one in and it was easy to do. But when we tried to put the switch back in we had a very hard time doing it. Eventually got it in, but if it had not been for the difficulty we had getting the new switch to snap in to place, it would have taken under 5 minutes.
