Used a pair of pliers and pulled firmly on ignit. elect. till the retaining clip pulled off the bottom of the elect.The wire pulled off the bottom of it and I had to use a long- thin- nose set of needlenose pliers to pull the wire out of where the elect. came out.Plugged wire in place and snapped electrode back in place without using the

Rubber grate pads that protect the range top had worn and were flat.

It didn't. The grate pads (PN# PS389174) were too small for the grate (W10311216) and wouldn't work. (PN# recommended by Whirlpool parts department) The pads were smaller in diameter and shorter. Yes I could have glued them in, but because of the size the pads would be flat in no time. The only thing I could order from KitchenAid was

the total grate. I ordered the pads late December, they were backordered. I got them the 1st week of February. I tried getting through to Whirlpool by calling to see if there was something I could reorder, but no luck, couldn't through. Am I unhappy? Oh some, but I handle it. Its not the first time I have been rode hard and put away wet.

Gently pressed the lower two clips onto my thumbs as I pressed the skirt into the cooktop skirt hole. Be gentle or you can break the new skirt!

Removed cooktop; replaced spark module. Originally ordered igniter switch - in error. Returned and ordered spark switch. (Should have studied the electrical diagram first. )

igniter on top right front burner was shorting out,it would click but not ignite burner

removed igniter and found porcelin split in half. JB welded both halves and put back into slot ,works fine now. Bought two extra in case.

ic electronic Ignition in place, remove the electric wire from the the old igniter. The most difficult part of the job was removing the retaining ring and installing the new ring.Job successfully completed.

the decorative backings on our stovetop knobs had become frayed, and I simply pried off the old ones,and installed the new ones. I have use Parts Select for years for various parts replacement, their service is quick and accurate. When I need a part, I always check here first.
