popped off the old knobs and put on the new ones in less than a minute

My husband and I replaced the igniter module, following directions we found online. We removed the old one, replaced it with the new one, and thankfully everything is working great!

I had to remove the two separate components of the gas burner unit, each had two screws. I lifted then tilted the lower portion of the burner unit to allow access to the underside of the igniter. I removed the spark module after first removing the upper rear panel cover and replaced with the new part module ordered from your company and now the spark module operates all the gas elements when they are turned on thus lighting the gas burners. Went to a local appliance parts store and could find only black knobs--there were two kinds--one $3 each, the other $8 each. Both kinds looked AWFUL so I went on line and found partselect.com which had suitable knobs at a very reasonable price, ordered them and they were shipped the next day. Removed back upper cover, unscrewed retaining screw from module. As noted in a comment from another do-it-yourselfer, I replaced screw with a longer one and reinstalled module. We replaced the part. It was pretty quick and easy to install.

Replace igniters

1. Turn off Gas at valve under cooktop. Unplug electric to igniters. 2. Remove all control knobs. 3. Remove grates and burner covers. 4. Remove screws from each burner head (10 screws) 5. lift and remove cooktop cover. 6. Reach under cabinet and push up main cooktop body (about 4 or 5 inches) and BLOCK. 7. Slightly lift burner strip enough to get short handle philips under screw holding igniter (Be gentle as gas line is still connect and will give enough so as not to have to disconnect them. 8. Since removing the burner valve would disable the cooktop, I ordered the valve first. Unfortunately the valve could not be removed because the screw that hold it in place was frozen to the valve and manifold. I finally had to cut the screw off with a hacksaw. Since the screw is a special screw, substitutions did not work, so I had to o ... Read more rder the screw and pay shipping a second time. These screws should be included with the valve. Anyway, the hacksaw did some slight damage to the manifold so that the screw did not seal off properly. I had to use a Dremel tool to smooth the surface and then use fiberglass to coat the surface to seal any scratches or potential leaks. I screwed the screw in after applying the fiberglass resin to the manifold surface while the resin was still pliable. This seemed to seal the manifold off so that there is no leak, but it does make me nervous. Because of having to reorder for the additional part, the range top took almost a week to repair and could not be used during that time all because the screw was not included with the burner valve. Also a screw with a larger head would have allowed a larger wrench to be used and the screw could have been removed easily. The screw head was so small that it rounded off from the wrench making it more difficult to remove.

removed knobs, burnners, top cover plate, disconnecte two gas lines from burnners to controls, lifted burnner bar, unscrewed igniter, installed new ingiter, and then reassembled cooktop. Went great, part was perfect!

Based on symptom, knew either switches or spark module. Checked continuity to each switch. Knew if only one faulty, entire harness must be replaced. Checked out good. Spark module isolated so replaced it.

I slid the range out about 8 inches from the wall, and having unplugged the range and looked at the diagram from the Parts Select site, I used a mirror and screwdriver to remove the screws holding the small rear cover.
