I pulled out the old element and the new one just plugged right in.

I order the Element and received just in 4 days. It is Real incredible. I just opened the box and replaced the burners.

The range, (1988 Tappan) was givin to the church by one of our members. While using it, --after a period of time-- the wire burnt off to one of the burners. Since the couple gave us a brand new top for the stove that was still in the box, we decided to fix the stove up.
Now, with new wiring to all four burners, new shiney drip pans ... Read more and,,,,a new top, we have a very new looking stove for in our church kitchen.
The parts I ordered from PartsSelect, came in just a few days of placing the order,
This is one site that I have wrote down in my address book for any future parts to items we may need.

Remove decorative side panels on stove to expose backside of hinge and springs;
remove door;
remove old hardware;
since hinge openings were bent, straighten hinge opening in oven face;
attach spring to inside of oven;
slide hinge through opening;
attach spring to hinge;
screw hinges to oven face;
re ... Read more peat on other side;
attach hinges to door;
while decorative panels are off, vacuum
install decorative panels.
DONE.

Turn off the electricity
Remove knob
Unscrew old switch
Lift stovetop & prop
Remove wires from switch
Remove switch
Plug wires onto new switch
Put new switch in place
Shut stovetop
Screw new switch in place
Trim knob post
Put adapter on post
Put knob back on
Turn electricity ... Read more back on

First installed the Spring Pin on the Mullion - Then inserted the top end of the Spring into the SPRING PIN - then while holding the spring in place with a left hand finger - using needle-nose pliers in my right hand I manipulated the other end ( the lower end) of ... Twisted replacement bulb into place easily. Let there be light!

Went to You Tube and saw video on how to replace broken mullion spring. Ordered part online (more than one in case one broke -very cheap <$3.00 per part). Watched video twice and was able to follow instructions and insert spring correctly. Not difficult if you pay attention to details on how the spring must fit and which end goes wher ... Read more e. Pulled out heating elements. Removed old drip bowls. Inserted new drip bowls and re-installed heating elements.

I was extremely pleased with the very quick delivery of needed parts.

Make sure whichever surface element you are to replace is OFF.Carefully remove surface element by pulling it out of socket and remove drip bowl. Cleaned area around range top and place new or old drip bowl in place. Line up drip bowl cutouts and place on range top and simply push in/plug (2 prongs)in new surface element and place on drip ... Read more bowl. It's that easy! To install 2 new surface elements and drip bowls took less than 5 minutes.

There is a pretty good video about this on youtube, but complications arose nonetheless. The replacement spring supplied by Partselect is a bit different from the original in two ways. First, it is made of heavier-gauge wire; this is a good thing for durability, but it makes installation tougher. Second, the ends of the spring, which a ... Read more re bent at right angles to the spring axis in order to fit into the plastic sleeves that hold the spring ends, are far too long. Once I figured this out, i snipped the ends down by a quarter inch or so, and they fit into the sleeves just fine after a certain amount of persuasion from needle-nose pliers. All things considered, it was a bit harder than it should have been, but the door works now, so all is well.

It was really easy just unplugged it took off the back cover changed the part out put back cover on plugged it in and the elements were working great!
