broken inside glass

After reading what other people did for this job I figured I could do this. The inside glass broke after liquid accidently hit the glass from basting.
Just followed the digram from the internet to show how the door and glass comes apart. The only thing I had to figure out was how to take the door off. And once I figured that out it went pretty easy.
The door comes off just by lifting up on the door and pulling out. Just make sure you put all your parts in order on how they come apart and just replace them them in that order.

Everything worked perfectly---thanks to the suggestion of your call center agent. She suggested that since the replacement door handles were no longer available, I should consider repainting them--it worked like a charm. Please tell her she was a life saver. We rent that house in Fl and my returning tenants had complained about the discol oring refer handles. Thank you

Door wouldn't close tight
  • Dale from Port Tobacco, MD
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
First of all I couldn't believe parts arrived next day. Parts solved the problem I was reluctant to believe new hinges would solve the problem. I installed the hinges in about 1 hour but I had door apart previously so I knew what I was doing. Now my wife is speaking to me again and she threw the wooden spoon away that she used to hold doo r closed. Just spent $100 dollars and saved $1600 thanks guys.

Inner door glass broke from contact with cooler liquid.
  • Gus from Freeland, WA
  • Easy
  • 1- 2 hours
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
I followed the instructions submitted by other users which were helpful. Two notes that might help someone. 1. To loosen the screws holding the inner door glass, use channel lock type pliers to slightly twist the square bracket the screw is holding. The screw comes out easily then. 2. Note that the flange on the side rails go UNDER the g lass door front. I spent quite a bit of time trying to get screw holes lined up with the flanges on top - DUH!

Cracked inner door glass
  • Jennifer from St Louis, MO

Most of the basics have been covered in previous post. I can add this- those who claim 15 minute-fixes are delusional, unless they're appliance repairmen. Secondly- what will take time is the cleaning. If you have to do this repair, which requires extensive disassembly of the door, it would be foolish not to take advantage of the opportun ity to thoroughly clean all four layers of glass. Take the glass panes outside and use oven cleaner. This takes time. Other than that, the pancakeing of the components on re-assembly is tricky, but you can do it. Don
