Simple - Removed oven door attached retainer with screw.Re attached door.

Whirlpool wanted three time the cost of the same parts The only shipping option was Fedex Overnight which was very costly.

Removed Door, Took Door apart, Replaced glass, re-installed door. Pretty basic

Repair was very easy, Alittle time consuming. Unscrewed the outer skin of the door and removed the pieces.

1) Look for the part at partselect.com, make sure you have the model and part number ready. Once you find the part, don't order yet. 2) Start your do-it-yourself repair by removing the oven door. On each side below are two arms/hinges, look closely and you will find locks on each side. Use your finger or flat screwdriver to slide towards ... Once you did it, wiggle the door a little bit, make sure they're unlocked, then pull it out carefully and hold it tight since it's little heavy. 3) At this point, you only need the phillips screwdriver. Look for all the screws, and unscrew it all, one step at a time (again make use of your digital camera). Remove the parts one at a time until you take out the broken inner glass. Measure it against the dimensions shown in the partselect.com. At this point you feel comfortable putting it back in-reverse, then you order the part. It took me 3 days for the part to arrive, but it's no big deal. 4) It's a bit difficult for me the first time, I can't figure out how to put them back (that's why I recommended the digital camera), plus I have to clean the inside and the other two glasses so it took me 1-2 hrs. I assure you if you follow my instructions, 15-30 minutes max, no sweat. 5) My wife promised me $300 for the labor (competitive price), I'm still waiting though.....Good Luck

opened door and secured the open position with a 3/8 allen wrench through the hole at the base of the support arm. (small bolt or other round, short object can be used). This locks the door in a 75% open position. Locking the door open allows easy lift and removal. Six screws and the door is apart. Clean and reassemble.

Unlocked the latches that hold door into oven. Removed door to work on it. Disassembled door by removing all the screws that hold it together. Removed two other glass sheets to access location. I ordered the part online and after recieving it I downloaded the manual from kitchenaid online and it explain exactly how to replace this part and I followed the instructiones and it worked with not too much difficult . It took me about an hour between reeding the instructions and doing the job itself

To prevent this from happening use 7 #8 flat stainless steel washers per the 4 oven door holes that connect to the the handle as shims before securing the attachment brackets.

Remove the screws securing the brackets for the next level of glass (Mark which it the top and which is the bottom bracket. Place the glass, brackets and screws together. Remove the next glass/bracket assembly and set it aside with the screws. Lift the inside metal glass retainer and set it aside. Remove the old glass and install the new glass and reverse the order of the disassembly process.

find the owner's manual & follow the instructions for inserting two allen wrenches (assuming that you cannot find the "removal tools" that came with the oven) into the holes near the hinges on the door, carefully & slowly close the door with the wrenches inserted until the hinges disengage from the wall mounted oven. It is necessary to remove panels from the front one layer at a time to reach the 3rd layer of glass (the inner most glass that is the rather easy one to break). Be slow and methodical. Not a challenge once you study the owner's manual for door removal instructions.

This 60 y.o. female had no owners manual. I completely relied on the information of this forum. *Recommend having a work area prepped before starting. I used a thick beach towel on the kitchen table. I put the short end of the wrench in the hole and leaned the long end against the oven rim. Start closing door and when almost closed, lift up to remove.*Place door handle side up on work surface to remove the 4 screws that hold outermost glass in place, 2 at top and two in brackets at bottom. Lay this aside in safe place on table. *Take off each layer to reach broken glass. *The hinge assembly has to be removed and the allen wrenches have to come out in order to accomplish this. Squeeze the hinge to take pressure off wrench to remove. Gloves help protect your hands for this step.Remove 2 screws each side. Keep each hinge next to the side it came from so you reassemble correctly.*If you have a phone with photo capability - I recommend you take a photo of each disassembly step. This saved me when it came to replacing the two brackets that hold the inner two pieces of glass. Clean all parts before reassembly (this takes the longest amount of time). I placed a thick cup towel in my sink and scrubbed. The cleaner I use for my glass range surface worked best. Dry thoroughly. When you get to the shattered glass remove it very carefully to avoid damaging the insulation underneath. I wish I had just purchased replacement insulation. Once the glass is replaced, everything goes back in reverse order. Now, here's the thing. I spent alot of time scrubbing. So, by the time I got to reassembly, I was bamboozled by the two 10 inch aluminum brackets that hold the two inner pieces of glass in place. So, to avoid any confusion, pay close attention to how these two brackets are placed or take pictures. This was an easy fix that went really well thanks to all the helpful info found here.

I lifted the door from the oven. I reviewed the break down of the parts. The only tool needed was a screw driver to disassemble the door. I stacked each part in the order it was removed and replaced them in reverse order. PS, I cleaned the old glass before it was reinstalled it.

turned breaker switch off. unscrewed the oven from the cabinet. lifted the oven out of the cabinet (heavy & awkward, needed an extra pair of hands). removed back panel. replaced fuse. reassembled everything. this is the second time i've had to replace the thermo fuse (oven blows the fuse when set to clean). first time i replaced the fuse ...
