KDTM704ESS2 KitchenAid Dishwasher - Instructions

Per suggestions from other reviews, I looked for You Tube videos for replacing this part. The video I used was completely necessary, but moved way too fast, so required lots of stopping, rewinding and starting again. But I managed to get the old rack adjuster removed and the new one installed without too much trouble.
Then I tried in ... Read more stalling it in the pull-out rail. The front connector on the new adjuster would not fit into the appropriate slot. Initially I thought maybe the part was defective, but determined that the dimensions were as accurate as my eye and tape measure could evaluate. Finally, I settled on the expedient of filing away at least 1/16" from one edge of the slot so that the connector would drop into place.
Not sure why this discrepancy existed but the problem appears to be resolved.

Remove power source, then remove old power cord.Run new power cord through existing opening ang attach to existing power box on bottom o f dishwasher. Install electrical leads and device ground. Reinstall cabinet bottom. Check out operation by running a cycle. All ok!

Easy. Part just snapped in and took all of about a minute. Now the top rack doe snot slide back and forth.

Pushed to be into place

Pulled the dishwasher out and took the two door balance links off and put the new ones on and attached to the spring. It was very quick and easy

Started the rope onto the top holder, threaded the rope around the rollers and using the pilers pulled the spring forward to attach the other end of the rope.

Unscrewed mounting screw at top and bottom of duahwasher, pulled out dishwasher could see the pully on one side had broken. installed new part put dishwasher back in place and rescrewed mounting screws.

Pulled dishwasher from under the counter and replaced the plastic part with the new part and attached the new cord to the door spring and to the replacement plastic part. replaced the dishwasher under the counter and replaced the kick plate. All Done.

remove the bottom plate with a nut driver and back off on the front leg adjusters. Slide out the dishwasher approx 8-10 inches and remove the broken link. The new one goes on easily. Look at the opposite side if in doubt as to how to attach. Slide the unit back in and tighten the leg adjusters until the unit is secure. reattach the lower ... Read more front panel which hides the leg adjusters, etc. You're done!

Followed directions here. Extremely easy repair.

Just like the video; remove the 2 nuts off the kick plate, remove the 2 screws under the counter, pull the unit out, ease the spring off the cable, nut drive the pully assembly's off, install the new ones, place new rope/cable from the door arms onto pullys, attach the spring, push the unit back into place, replace screws and the kick pla ...
