Since the belt broke, I had to put the cogged belt on the large driven pulley first, after loosening the four motor mount screws, and sliding the motor as close to the driven belt as I could. r away from the driven pulley to put proper tension on the belt without being excessive. I snugged the four motor mount bolts, tested the compactor and after a successful run, tightened the bolts on the motor mount. I then replaced the latch assembly, two screws and it was done.

Screwed in as far as I could get it but it never went flush with the wall of the compactor like the factory placed ones.

All 4 compactor buttons were missing. The bag kept getting pulled down when we'd run the compactor.

I just used the accompanying screw to attach the buttons to the 4 holes in the drawer. Simple stuff.
I do think I read that the Jenn-Air bags used to come with precut holes, and the bag wold slide over the buttons, holding it in place. I jus get the bag lined up and pulled over the drawer, and cut the holes myself. It works per ... Read more fectly.

Top door of machine would not latch

Replaced the old latch knob and installed the new one by twisting it in by hand . That was easy. The part in the door itself was not holding the new latch knob. I tried unsuccessfully to take the door apart to install the new part that goes in the door and grabs the knob. When that didn't work, I stuck what looked like an alternative

to replacing that part into the old part. It was a flexible part that was supposed to catch the knob. That worked for a while and then came out. Unfortunately, I'm back to putting a piece of cardboard between the door to make it stay up.

Door would not stay shut due to worn striker.

These instructions are for a door with a round metal striker and a latch with 2 small springs. Before ordering parts try loosing striker and rotating it 90 degrees and retighten. With door shut open trash bin and loosen half way 3 screws on bottom of door. Open door and remove 3 screws holding handle to door. Remove 1 screw on each side a

nd using a small flat screwdriver pry front and back of door apart. Use pliers squeeze small tabs on side of latch and push latch out of backside of door. Push new latch in place and loosely install all screws before final tightening. The striker can be held with pliers while removing the nut on the backside with a 1/4 inch drive socket or wrench. Install new striker. Do not over tighten.
