KBUI Thermador Refrigerator - Instructions

After my son-in-law told me where to change the part, I had to use pliers to turn the knob and it came right out. I replaced the filter turned the knob.

followed the instruction video,that PartSelect provided on the web site,It was very easy

unscrewed 4-5 screws; unplugged; attached arm; installed; reverse pattern. truly easy. cost 1/3 what repair man quoted me. this is easy!

Removed one screw on cover covering wires on old ice maker,disconnected plug, removed ice maker, checked connector to make sure there was120vac, Power supply was good, installed new ice maker, connected plug. Works great.
Part to fix ice maker is very expensive, complete unit only $15 more and it has a one year warranty.

With a little investigation, I found that the ice tray had corroded, and the increased friction was keeping the ice from dumping out properly. Read more ntly more expensive than the universal Whirlpool replacement icemaker, but the two looked similar, so I ordered the universal replacement. When it arrived about 3 days later, I was able to easily remove the standard parts and replace them with the plastic parts and wire harness that were unique to my refrigerator. They fit perfectly, and I had the new icemaker installed in only about 20 minutes, including time spent to remove and replace the plastic parts

Removed two screws, pulled the element out and disconnected the wire harness. Reversed the procedure and we were one.
Kept a close watch n the ice maker to make sure we didn't have another flood. The first time an ice cube stuck between the metal bale and the side of the freezer--we had about 50 gallon of water on the floor. Thoug ... I just removed three screws from the old ice maker and disconnected a single set of wires. All I had to do was reconnect the new set of wires and screw it back into the side of the freezer. Anybody could do this repair.

Looking at the instructions it looked like I had to rewire the the plug in the adapter. As it turns out, you don't .Using a screw driver, I released the braket mount and the nut driver loosened the nut holding the tray to the wall. It came right off when you lift it straight up and the wire assembly was exactly the same as the original. ... Read more All I did was plug in the new ice maker, Hang the assembly on the loosen nuts and tighten again and put the screw back in the bottom bracket that held it in place. I spent longer looking at the instructions than I actually did in the whole replacement time. By morning we had a good amount of ice. EASY>>

The ice maker is held in by three screws. There is an electrical connection. Also, there is a water line to the rear of the unit.
The replacement unit had clear instructions and a selection of parts to match the defective device.
Hint: don't discard the old unit until the new unit is configured for installation.

This was an easy repair.

First I turned off the breaker that supplies power to the refrigerator, then I followed instructions to remove the old ice maker. I removed the bottom screw and loosened the two top screws and it came out easily.

The only unexpected problem I ran into was that the connection at the refrigera ... Read more tor end was 'hard wired', i.e., the wiring harness was not removable from the freezer.

After disconnecting the wiring harness from the old ice maker, all I had to do was plug the wiring harness into the new unit, slide it into place, then replace the bottom screw and tighten the two top screws.

Turned the power back on and had ice within 1/2 hour! : )

First I unpluged the refriderator and removed the old ice maker. I then just simply installed the new ice maker. It was just that simple. The next morning I woke up with a full tray of ice.

Ordered and installed new icemaker. Still didn't work. Called repairman who replaced cut-off sensor (expensive service call) Worked briefly, then stopped. Service man said new icemaker was defective. Called PartsSelect and they promptly sent another one (great service). Made ice for 12 hours and then stopped. Did nothing for 36 hours and ... Replacing the ice maker is no big deal. Just take out the old one and replace it with the new one. The replacement, however, didn't work very well. It was very fast and easy. Two screws to take of the ice door cover. the ice maker itself just slid out and all I did was disconnnect the wiring harness. Unscrewed the plastic bottom case and screwed onto the new one. Attached the harness and slid it back in.

i can't believe it was that easy, just removed the screws, pulled elements out disconnected wires well it seemed to easy so had to read the directions or it would have took only 10 minutes. to do this job. thanks so much for your web sight, the repair man said it would probably be 200.00 or so
