inserted a knife between the switch and the plastic interior in order to pop the switch out.
then took off the 2 wires on the old switch put them on the new switch and reinserted the switch into the plastic interior.

Broken plastic part in motor assembly. Very simple to replace. Sears wanted $322.00!!!

Loosened two top screws using a hand held mirror and screwdriver and removed a bottom screw then unplugged the unit inside. Five minutes and repair was complete. Easy as that!

Althought kit was supplied with multyple wiring harnesses the harness attached to unit was the correct harness for the model I was replacing. As this was a side by side ref/freezer unit their us limited space to view support screws. I used a mechanics mirror to find upper screws. This visualization made the process go much faster. The instructions are practically no help, but if you study the diagram, you can figure out the one screw you need to remove. Then the icemaker lift off of two brackets. Removed the screws and disconnected the electric. I put the proper electric harness on and went to fit the unit in but it didn't fit. Until I figured out that you have to use the clips from the old unit that hold the unit in place. The actually hang on them. Once I figured it out it was easy.

Used a nutdriver and removed the lower mount nut, then loosened the the top two nuts and the icemaker lifted off, then unplugged the device and replugged it into the "old" plug(the new ones were not needed) then remounted it. First I removed the (3) screws holding the unit to the side of freezer wall with a nutdriver. Then I disconnect the Harness from the back of the freezer. I removed the switch housing (4 screws), replacing the switch in the housing was a snap. It took 5 minutes, cost $8 and light works like new!

Why didn't I order this part and do the repair earlier? Very simple.

Removed the one screw holding the unit in place in the freezer and pulled it out. Removed the 3 screws that hold the motor in place on the ice maker. Replaced the motor unit, replaced the 3 screws, and re-installed the ice maker.
Sears wanted $170 for labor for the 10 minute job, plus $130 for the part, which I got here ... Read more for $65.

It actually took me longer to think about the repair than actually doing it. It was three screws, two upper that you just loosen and then one on the bottom that you remove.
