Very easy to remove the parts and to reassemble

I removed the 4 hex head screws holding the control panel , then the other 4 slotted screws. Disconnected all wires being careful to keep track of the color coding. It still wouldn't heat. it wasn't the control panel, but a burned out wire connecting the element in the back of the oven. Well, anyway I learned how to do the job and the the new panel activates better, so all was not lost.

I am a 62 year old woman with NO experience fixing appliances However I didn't have the money for a repairman so I ordered the part and googled "Hiw to change a heating element in a GE range". Took the oven door off and removed the inner door panel, put new glass assembly part in and reassembled. The hard part was getting the door hinges locked back into place.

I turned off the circuit breaker and unplugged the stove. I removed the back panel and marked the location of the wires on the new oven clock control. I detached the wires and removed the old card. I installed the new one and reconnected the wires. I plugged the stove and turned on the circuit breaker. All the lights came on and the oven ... Read more worked fine. I reinstalled the back panel and it took me less than thirty minutes to complete the job.

0) Take the back cover of the range off.
1) Carefully noted how the wires and the sockets were connected.
2) Visually checked that the new parts were practically identical old ones.
3) Put together the new sockets from the parts in the kit.
4) disconnect the old sockets and put the new sockets in place.
5) For eac ... Read more h unit disconnect one old wire at the time and connect the new wire. Repeat the same for second wire.
6) Neatly bunch together the rest of the wires with electrical tape. Do not cut the wires!

That's it! It took about 20-30 minutes.

Took me a second to remember that YouTube is just as handy a tool as what I've got in my toolbox. The installation of the new glass was as easy as apple pie. Anybody that has ever used a screwdriver could manage that fix and do so single handedly. PartSelect.com came through with an easy-to-navigate website, a very reasonable price range ... Read more and anything you could ask for to help fix whatever has broken. I quoted a gentleman in my town, a handyman, and he came back with a price tag of over $300 for parts and labor! Even with tax, shipping and the new glass I came in well under $100, and the labor was next to nothing. Talked to parts select tech after ordering the control board. Tech advised me that he felt the range could be repaired without installing any parts. Advised me to contact manufacture tech support and explain the problem. I did to find that the child safety lock was on, probably from cleaning and touching too many buttons at once while whi ... Read more pping surface. Told me to hold down + and - at the same time for three seconds and it was fixed.
Parts select tech had told me don’t worry the parts are guaranteed so I called for a RMA and returned the parts for a refund. Thanks Parts Select, y’all are real professionals and that is greatly appreciated.

Installed the faceplate to the front of control board (you might wait until you remove the old board first). Removed 3 screws with a nutdriver holding the top stove black plate and 4 screws holding the control board in place. Disconnected the wiring harness from the 4 pin jack at end of the board and the 4 color coded wires from the color ... Read more coded pins on several components on the board. Connected the color coded wires and replaced the board into the stove with the 4 screws and replaced the top plate to the back of the stove. My faceplate came in a long envelope and was not bent.

Pulled the range out and unplugged it. Removed the back panel. Removed one wire at a time and plugging it in on the new switch. unscrewed the existing switch from the front panel (Two screws). Screwed the new one in, replaced the panel, plugged in the range and tested it. The new switch was a perfect OEM replacement and worked perfectly.

Changed the lower heating element. Simple, simple, simple. I first went on YouTube and watched a couple of videos. Reassurance is a good thing. Okay here we go. 1) Pull the oven out from the wall 2) UNPLUG 3) remove the racks in the oven 4) Unscrew the (2) screws holding the element to the back wall of the oven. 5) There are t ... Read more wo (2) connections that you simply pull off. Remove the element. 6) Throw the old heating element away and connect the NEW element where the OLD one was. 7) Put the old screws back in. Plug the oven back in and test. VOILA!!! you are now a repairman.

Turne off power to range..pulled oven out..Took top back panel off with nut driver. 4screws .. Took picture of control board....removed bad control board with Phillips driver...4 screws....installed New board...removed 1 connection at a time and replaced in New board..Turned power on to test new board...check picture to make sure connect ... Read more ions are correct...turn off power...put back panel back on...put range back in place...turn power back o n...done ..approximate time 15 to 20 minutes..

I took the oven door off. Laid it down on a blanket on the floor. I pulled up on end going into the door, then went around with fingers to feel where the clip were and grab the clip with my fingers and gently pulled up. Then grabbed the new gasket, found the center clip that goes at top of door and started pushing the clips in. The last w ... Read more as feeding the ends back into the slot in the door.
