Replacement of hood light bulbs

Unplug the microwave. Then remove the six screws that hold the lower panel which has the light bulb cover and a couple of vent filters. The light bulb sockets are on a fixture that is connected by a quick connect electrical connector. Disconnect that and the whole panel is free to access the bulbs. My bulbs were very fragile and tryin g to twist them out resulted in the glass twisitng loose with the base still in the sockets. I needed to use a needle nose pliers to remove the bases and then I replaced the bulbs and put every thing back together

Simply removed two screws to remove the old vent grille and replaced it with the new grille. I was also very pleased with the assistance I received from the service rep. I had ordered the wrong grille. I called the PartSelect help number and the rep walked me through the product return process, then found the correct part and ordered it. I had the replace 3 - 4 days later. The rep was very polite and patient during the whole process.

I removed the two screws, removed the broken grill, popped in the new grill (after I ordered the correct color, did not get the biscuit color I thought I had ordered the first time) replaced the two screws....I was good to go. Strange that the tabs in the first place just fell apart...but reading others, find this seems to be a common pr oblem. Simple as pie.

Door Latch

  • Tabitha from STAFFORD, VA
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
Whirlpool Model# MH1150XMS-0 purchased in 2004. I called Whirlpool and they suggested a new microwave. No big surprise - being the thrifty person that I am I wasn’t taking this for an answer. I figured if I had to purchase a new microwave what was $35.22 (part# PS373828 + shipping) if it worked.

I replaced the latch on th e microwave door. Once the latch was replaced. I also took this time to make sure that the microwave door was in alignment. Thereafter, I had to adjust the door interlock switch behind the microwave console panel to recognize the microwave being closed. Yes, gaining access to all these areas was a bit difficult but have patience. TADA!!!....microwave is working. #girlsrock
