HTDP120GD2WW Hotpoint Dryer - Instructions

When we first heard the screeching i thought right away that it was the belt. we ordered a new one and after i replaced it the dryer was still just as loud. I wished i went here first. Right away i found others with the same problem, did the same repair which was just taking 2 screws out, sliding the top and front panel off(watch for the ... Read more electric wire connected to the panel) and replace a couple of plastic slides. now it is better than ever.

Unplugged power. removed 2 screws to take of top cover. once inside removed 2 more screws to slide front panel of. I first replaced slides on front panel. I then lift drum and installed new belt. Only trick is to make sure you wrap belt around tension arm pully properly. Basically a very easy job

I order the parts needed to replace the slides, the felt ,and the bearing on a Sunday afternoon. The parts arrived on Tuesday even though I used regular shipping. inserted the lint catcher into the opening to replace the old one

this was a part i ordered for future use. i was very happy with the ordering process and speed of delivery from PartSelect.

Old handle popped out by pulling back and out. Inserted new handle by pushing in and forward. Easy!

Removed the broken lint filter and replaced with new

All I neede to do was buy the new part and snap it into place on the door. The hardest part was making the door usable while waiting for a new handle. The solution was good old duct tape. I just taped the old broken handle in place until the new one showed up.

Opened up the package and took off existing door handle. The new one snapped right into place. This took all of 10 seconds!

Removed the star bit screws on the top of the control panel then removed the front by opening the door and removing the screws in the upper corners of the door jam. I then removed the top which exposed the drum slides. NOTE: This model requires 4 drum slides and NOT two as specified in the video.

Gently pull off all knobs and put aside. Remove the panel screws using the star bit. Tip panel forward. Remove three wires from old switch and put them on same terminals on new switch. Use the screwdriver to gently pull up the old switch's locking arm from the slot in the front panel and rotate the old switch until it pops out of the fron ... Read more t panel. Insert the new switch into the panel and rotate until the locking arm clicks into place. Replace front panel making sure no wires are pinched. Re-install the front panel screws and control knobs.

easy to fix took less than 10 minutes

First thing I did was find out the model and serial #'s of the dryer. I went to a major store to see if they had the part, found out that it had to be ordered and mailed to me. Read more emove a small clamp that held the part on to the machine and make sure the 3 wires were secured after I installed the new part. Thank you!

This repair was a no brainer repair. The factory replacement knob that I bought from this site comes with a new "D"-Ring. Some other aftermarket parts houses sell the knob and the "D"-Ring as seperate parts. The knob from this site already has the "D"-Ring ring installed in the knob. My "D"-ring was broken and I simply removed it with ... Read more my fingers. All I had to do was properly align the new know knob with the timer shaft and press it into place. If your "D"-ring is not broken and not still inside the old knob, you will need to pull it off the shaft with a pair of pliers before pressing the new knob onto the timer shaft.
