Pliers, Screw drivers
After removing three screws on the ice bucket, it basicly came apart by itself. I needed to use pliers to remove the old nut because it had over tightened itself onto the shaft. Be careful here - it is a left hand nut - not a normal right hand nut! Reassembly was a snap putting the parts back together in reverse order. Unit has been w

I followed the isntructions of another fellow who had repaired his ice maker, but made the mistake of taking the ice crushers apart before noting where the fixed blades were to be reassembled. Since there was not a schematic with the part I had to go on line to your site and enlarge and use the one there, while accurate, was very hard to

read and when I finished, I think it is in the wrong place as I'm not able to get the fineness of crushed ice I had before the repair, but absent a very legible schematic I'm not going to try to fix it further. The auger works, gives us ice cubes and half crushed cubes.
Another tip for future repairers is to to wait for the ice container to warm up or use a hair drier on the part where the tabs need to be depressed to slip off the blade housing. When cold it's extremely brittle, but since I had to leave the job for later at one point and left in on my work bench I found it much more pliable and easy to assemble.
All in all, I'm OK with the part and the result, but wish I could have gotten the fixed blade back into the right spot.

They don't make appliances like they used to. When my little butter door cracked, we kept using it until it finally fell off for good. So, where do you buy one of these? When I turned to the internet, I found a few places but they were toooo expensive. PartSelect had the right part at the right price. I figured that if I bought another li

ttle damaged part, the light cover, at the same time, the shipping cost was essentially halved, an even better deal. I was so surprised when my parts arrived faster than I expected, a couple of days by regular mail. That's faster than I could ever get a service call and who's going to call a repairman for a simple thing like that, anyway. If not for PartSelect my reputation as the Queen of Duct Tape would still be intact. I didn't want duct tape holding together my newish SS fridge in my redone kitchen. Imagine tile, granite, stainless and duct tapeI placed the little door in the fridge and now the butter stays put. the lower light shield is just as easy.

It originally appeared that an easy out would be required to remove ferule from piping line, but later it became necessary to cut old broken fitting off and replace with compression fitting in replacement kit. Total time to repair after all tools were on hand (needed to buy tubing cuter) was about 45 minutes.
