had no instructions on how to remove old door hinge recepticle..
0 of 1 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Douglas from Colrain, MA
  • Difficult
  • 1- 2 hours
  • Screw drivers
After trying to unscrew a plate on the side, I found that would NOT work at all, the side panel of the stove was behind it. I found a tab that cut-out on 3 sides just above the location of the recepticle, and simply bent that tab out, pulled out the old recepticle, slid in the new recipticle, and put in the screws and then bent back the tab. It was sooo easy once I found that. I repeated in on the other side.

Bottom element in oven not heating.
  • Catherine from San Saba, TX
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
We removed the screws holding the old element. Pulled the old element out of the back of the oven and disconnected the connecters (they just pull off). Slipped the connecters to the new element and pushed the element back in the oven wall and installed the screws. The only hard thing was removing the screws, because they had been in the oven for 15 years and were a little corroded.

Improper temperature when baking.
  • Lorenza from Rowlesburg, WV
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
Moved the stove away from the wall, unhooked the electric cord and the gas pipe. In the oven, undid the two screws holding the probe. Removed two screws and removed the electrical cover panel from the stove back, disconnected the quick connect to the probe and pulled the probe from the oven. Reversding the proceedures, put the new probe into the oven, hooked up the quick connect and replaced the electrical panel cover. From the front, reinstalled the probe with the two screws, reconnected the gas and the power cord and put the stove back into position. It works just fine now!

Oven did not work since bake element did not warm up.
  • Russell from North Smithfield, RI
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
Square drive screws used throughout the oven since its manufactured in Canada. Shut power down to the range. Element fastener plate removed and 2 electrical terminals loosened. Used a pair of hemostats to hold on to the wires so as not to lose them to the interior back of the oven which was loaded with insulation. Connected the 2 wires to the new element, screwed the element fastening plate with element back to the back of the oven wall. Turned power back on and voila, I was back in business.

Right large burner switch only heated on "high"
  • James from Weatherford, TX
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
I mistakenly took the two screws out of the front piece above the oven. Except for that the time would have been maybe 10 minutes. The knobs all four came off easy and so did the retainer nuts and the six screws holding the metal plate. I took the old switch out after turning off the power. I had the new switch in one hand and removed on e wire at a time from the old and put it on the new one. Put the parts back in place and turned the power on and turned the switch on. Works great! Saved about one hundred and thirty dollars from what the repair service charged last time.

DId a large burners switch swap
  • John from Pikeville, NC
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
Turned of breaker to stove. Removed knobs. Removed four plastic nuts under knobs. Removed five screws that hold swith plate in place. Removed two screws that held actual switch in place. Swaped one wire at a time to new switches. (Switch was a newer model so seeing switch markings was critical to correct wire replacement!) Installed in re verse order. All in all. The job was easy and the new swith looks to be of a higher quality. This ia a gee-wiz--when the old switch failed it failed to the full on position. I had a pot of chicken slowly simering on Lo went to the garage to work a project came back in to a house filled w smoke/alarms going off and the burner on full high-glowing! The old switch was dangerous!

Old switch failed to turn off burner light off.
  • James from Weatherford, TX
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
Turn off the breaker! Remove the switch knobs. Using a Phillips screwdriver remove the two screws on the affected switch. With a large tip Phillips remove the three screws at the edge of each end of the panel and place it bottom side up on the stove top. Look at the bottom of the switch. Compare those numbers with the numbers on the new switch. Remove the wires one at a time and place them on the corresponding numbered terminal on the new switch. Be sure to put the mounting plate on the stem. Place the new switch in the cover plate and insert screws. Put cover over switches and insert the three screws on each side. Turn breaker on and turn burner switch on. Success!

Cracked inner door glass
  • Franklyn from Jupiter, FL
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
Started with three screws on outer edge of door, which separated inner and outer door parts exposing the first set of screws on first piece of glass. There are four panes including inner and outer with two between. Keep track of the screws, be careful removing and replacing glass panes (i put mat down to rest glass on)and with nothing mo re than a screwdriver and windex to remove fingerprints etc from replaced glass, it was a breeze. Good luck! - FK, Bahamas
