The repair was fairly easy. Take out screws and lift top of ice maker but do not take off. Having 2 people to do this helps. Clean all parts with calcium deposits. Replace all moldy or broken parts. screw. We used a little wax to keep the screw on the driver. The ice maker works better than it has in 2 years.

Ice Maker leaking proved to be a cracked value (not pump)

We had the coldest winter in 114 years in north Texas (must be global warming...) and our outdoor kitchen ice maker value assembly frozen and cracked.
1) Remove bottom panel screws using nut driver
2) Remove door screws
3) Unhook two power connectors from value assembly
4) Release water supply quick connects

6) Re-install door - this is a a little tricky there is a spring on each side which slows the door when opening and this pulls the door down which means the screw are not properly aligned by default. You basically have to pull the door up( a second set of hands help) and attach the screws and then let it go.

I recieved the replacement part the next day after ordering it. If you are some what mechanicaly talented this repair is very simple. The only tool that is needed is a nut driver. You may want to remove the bracket holding the water solenoid vavlves. Then you can pull them out of your way to remove the 3 screws holding the fan to the brac

ket. Once you remove the old fan motor just reverce your steps with the new motor. Check that all your screws are tight. Check to make sure that there are no wires in the way of the fan. Don't forget to attach the wire harness and re-attach the solenoid bracket. Ahh nice and quiet like new!

removed two screws and bracket that held it in place. Removed the hoses and pump. put new one in by re-attaching hoses, pump then put screws back in to hold it in place. Fairly easy.

Ice maker Thermostat not shutting off the making of ice

un screwed the hex screw holding the thermostat and installed the new thermostat and pluged the new part int its place. I undid the front shield so i could get to the plug.

Double check the actual part number. While the item looks the same, my unit had a 3 prong plug while the replacement had only 2 and did not fit.

The pump was making noise, so I decided to replace both pumps. I had to remove the water bucket to get to the pumps which are easy to change out once there. It is easy to see what you have to remove to get to it. I used the mirror and rachet, extensions, 1/4 socket to remove screws. Tips - Remove the plastic door-inner to help working

inside the bin. Also plug the drain because you will drop screws. Magnet sockets don't work on stainless steel. Later I found it is much easier to work inside the bin by pulling the entire unit out (shut off water and power, remove lower panel and disconnect drain tube). It sounds hard, but actually is easy. REMOVE THE TOP (4 screws). it stays connected because of wiring, but it allows full access and makes all kinds of repairs easy, especially pump replacement and even the circuit board behind the front panel buttons if you ever get to that point.
The pumps weren't the problem. The water bucket was only parially filling causing the pump to make noise. The problem was the WATER INLET VALVE. It is super easy to replace. Just remove the lower panel, and the valve is right there. Shut off power and water. To disconnect the hoses you PULL on the little fittings attached to the valve and then pull out the hoses. Took me 15 minutes.
BTW Partselect is awesome, I have used a number of times for ice maker and dishwasher. My next project is the washing machine! Always the right part shipped very quickly.

I unplugged the appliance removed the back cover exposing the fan motor.Unplugged the wiring harness from the motor assembly.unbolted the fan motor mounting bracket,and removed. removed the old fan from the bracket, installed the new one and then he reinstalled the new fan and bracket back into the unit. He used the included electric adaptor cable to complete the electrical connection, plugged in the refrigerator briefly to confirm all was well (it was), then replaced the back cover and we were done.

My top grid was broken. After removing the old wire and loosening the screws on both ends of the old wire, I carefully unrolled the new wire so there were no kinks. Next, I put one end of the wire in a vice to hold it in place. I put a loop in the other end and attached it to the one end of the frame. You can then hold the grid in both ha

nds and put tension on the wire as you make the wraps. When you get to the end, attach it to the grid screw and tighten the screw while maintaining tension. You can then cut the remaining wire and reinstall the grid. I think this was much easier than the directions that came with the wire. Took 5 minutes to install the wire on the grid and 15 to 20 minutes to everything back together and start making ice.
