E. Z. hardest part (which isn't hard) was moving the appliance to reach the back, then putting the appliance back into place. the actual repair (swapping out valve) took less time than that to do.

The web interface is nice, however in this situation it references the wrong part which was not known until the item arrived. Customer Service handled return, however I had to call LG directly to confirm correct part number (LG p/n 4866ER0004A = p/n PS3524040) but this was only after LG also gave wrong p/n. When replacement part arriv

ed the internal concrete had a crack in it. The part is basically a plastic shell that is filled with concrete. However the opening (about 1 x 4) is left open and with the concrete having a crack in it the piece will vibrate together and continue to break down over time (which is what happened to the original one) Before installing I chose to fill opening with epoxy and a plastic layer, then covered with electrical tape to seal it in. I feel this item is poorly designed from LG. Additionally this item was poorly packaged by PS when shipping which caused the damage (it weights about 15 lbs and was allowed to float around in a large over-sized box filled with large air pillows). I have photos but no way to upload here.

Disassembled washer, replaced bearings, seals and gasket. Watched instructional video to familiarize myself with the repair. Followed all steps as recommended, repair was straight forward without any surprises. Hardest part was removing the drum from the machine, somewhat heavy. sket. Reinstalled in reverse order. Note: Upon tear down, I found the seal was pushed out, causing the bearing failure. I also found that the seal was installed incorrectly from LG. They have the seal lip facing the bearings, should be facing the water. This repair seems to be difficult, but was fairly self explanatory. All plug ins are color coded, all hoses are accessible with little effort. If you have basic skills you should be able to handle this repair.

Watched a step-by-step video on you tube and ordered parts. I took apart the washer by following the steps in the same video to disassemble. Once apart I took the opportunity to pressure wash the tub and housing then let dry overnight. It takes a minute to get the washer apart then back together, but no part was difficult. No special

tools were needed. Before I put the back and top panel on, I hooked a garden hose with a splitter to the supply lines and ran a cycle in the garage just to make sure all connections were nice and tight. No issues. Washer is running like a champ since. As you take the washer apart for this type of repair you basically unhook or remove every single part that could go out. Great opportunity to familiarize yourself with other components for the "next time".

Do not pay a service company to come to your house to make this fix!!! If you have common sense, simple tools, a phone camera and some mini zip ties you can do this!

Read more o I took a lot of pictures as I disassembled. I also laid all the parts out on a table reflective of where they belonged on the machine. I learned washers aren't rocket science - YOU CAN DO THIS. The most difficult part of the fix was my washer was a different model so much of the caging was completely different than YouTube disassembly, but once I got into the machine it was fairly identical. Easily popped out the old, broken motor and inserted the new LG certified part. Reassembled in 1/2 the time of disassembly and my machine works like new:) Hoping to get another 10+ years out of this washer.
Thanks PartsSelect for the high quality certified LG part. Very nice quality and weight.

I followed the video. Everything worked exactly as described. i ran a quick cycle and everything seemed to be fine. Started a wash and the machine was going fine but stopped, and wouldn't drain.
