First removed the remaining end cap; then inserted rod into RH and LH replacement caps and snapped end caps into place.

Screw drivers
When I pulled the compressor relay out to check it, it disintegrated in my hands. Replced relay for $4.14.

Pliers
Needed to remove both left and right broken (plastic) supports and reinsert the new parts. Not hard at all...worked like a charm!
