FFU2124DW8 Frigidaire Freezer - Instructions

I followed the video. It’s not that it’s a bit difficult, it’s just going slowly and carefully.
The thing that I didn’t allow the 24 hours for the gasket to relax after leaving the box. Also, I forgot to heat the gasket and put a small layer of Vaseline.
So the next day I noticed the the gasket wasn’t seating properly and went ... Read more back to the video and carefully followed the steps to gently heat it with a hair dryer and Vaseline. The gentle heat let the gasket properly relax and seat. The Vaseline helped created a small vacuum to complete the gaskets “training” to seal properly.
24 hours later it was beautiful and the freezer was working like new.

Had to lossen around 60 screws to allow for the old gasket to be removed. Then I began the process of inserting the new gasket by fitting it into the gasket channel opened when I loosened the 60 screws. Took me weeks to find the noise after I checked everything electrical in the house including replacing all batteries. Finally, an electrician isolated it to the refrigerator.

U ... Read more nplug and remove the back panel. On the bottom left side, detach the two old parts together from the compressor. Use a large flat screwdriver to pry them out. (They are held in place with a wire you must first remove.) Plug one new part onto the other and then insert it as one part.

Easy Peasy. The hardest part is getting your hand in a small space and putting back the wire that holds them in.

Don't call a repairman - fix it yourself....

I had a repairman here and after spending 350 dollars after 4 visits and parts, I decided to try it myself. I ordered a compressor start relay and a run capacitor. Replacement took all of 15 minutes and now runs again for the first time in a month. Thank you Parts Select. You’re the best!

Opened mailer and bag and place the drain plug into the drain. fit perfectly. In fact it is better than the one lost since the original needed a screwdriver or tool to remove the plug. This one has a flang or finger turner on it so that it can be removed. Also, does not interfere with items in bottom of freezer.

It was almost too easy. All I had to do was screw 4 screws into the handle, put the caps on to hide the screws and I was done. And I saved money by ordering from Frigidaire vs my local appliance store where I actually purchased the freezer.

I removed the top and bottom plastic bits that hide the screws. Then I removed the screws and put the new handle on with the same sheet-metal screws. No problems encountered.

Unplugged freezer, used digital multimeter to test defrost thermostat, temperature sensor, start/run capacitor and start/run relay for compressor motor. Found ohms values for start/run capacitor to be out of range and carbon traces on relay base where capacitor connects. Replaced capacitor and relay. Plugged freezer in and compressor imme ... My husband is a licensed elevator mechanic with a background in electrical troubleshooting. He tested the components and completed the repairs.

After removing the key from its shipping package I pushed it into the freezer locking slot and turned it to lock and unlock the lid and then removed it. I had no problems with this fix.
