I need to replace freezer & refrigerator gaskets. Do i need any other parts than the gaskets?
For model number FFTR1814QW4A
Hello Carol,
Thank you for your question. The freezer gasket under part PS9492371 and the refrigerator gasket under part PS9493819 do not need any additional parts to install, they just wedge into the frame of each door to install. We hope this helps.

where is the drain pan, refrigerator has a bad smell, even after taken everything out
For model number FFTR1814QW4A
Hello Gerald, thank you for asking! If your refrigerator is cooling then it is not the refrigerant that is causing the bad odor. Try cleaning the refrigerator with a baking powder and salt solution and also leave the cloth inside the empty refrigerator for a bit. Also, check all the seals and confirm that all containers are air-tight. If the bad odor still persists, the plastic liner around the defrost heater is most likely causing the bad odor. You can find it behind the rear panel of the freezer, it has an aluminum sheet around it. By removing the rear panel of the freezer, you will get full access to clean that area. Cleaning this area can potentially solve the bad odor problem. If still not solved, you need to look for the defrosting drain pan. You will find it right below the defroster, near the bottom. Make sure that it is clean and that no residuals from defrosted water remain there. The last thing to check is the drain tube, it should not be blocked or clogged. In the rear panel, you will find it connecting the defroster to the drain pan. We hope this will solve your problem. Mi consulta es
No enfria la parte de abajo del refrigerador
Gracias
For model number FFTR1814QW4A
Hello Alejandro, thank you for your question. If your refrigerator does not cool then the issue is probably with the Defrost Thermostat, part number PS469510. If that does not take care of the issue, then the problem is most likely to be related to the Cold Control Thermostat, part number PS8769007. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!
This was the second part I tried. The defrost timer was first, but that did not fix it. To do this I had to remove the ice maker and the back plate of the freezer. Then I defrosted the coil and cut the wires. stripped them back and installed the new thermostat. re-assembled and tested. has been working great ever since.
I unplugged the refrigerator, then opened the door and removed four screws holding the plastic electrical panel to the interior top of the main refrigerator compartment and noticed the cold control was corroded badly, apparently from moisture in the panel. I ordered a new one from partselect.com. When it arrived the next day, I then pulled off the control knob, unclipped the cold control, unplugged the three wires to the control, then removed the styrofoam insulation blocks holding the thermocouple wire and then removed the thermocouple wire to complete the removal. I then reversed the process to install the new thermostat and control. That is repositioned the thermocouple wire, put the insulation blocks back to hold the wire, then replugged the three electrical wires, clipped the control back and pushed the control knob back on and finally screwed the panel back to the top of the main compartment and plugged the refrigerator electrical cord back in to provide current to the refrigerator. It immediately started up and ran fine. Total time - about 8 minutes.
