Why does the freezer work and the refrigerator part does not.
For model number FFHS2611LWJA
PartSelect logo
Hi Frank, Thank you for your question. If the freezer section is cooling normally, but the refrigerator section is too warm, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the defrost thermostat, the damper control assembly, the run capacitor, the temperature sensor, the evaporator fan motor and fan blade, the defrost heater and the condenser fan motor and blade. You will find the information on how to test these parts under Free Repair Help and Instant Repairman on our website. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

Water is showing up on the flood under the freezer door.

Hi Edward, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the drain pan, part number PS2331555, which may be cracked or not fitted correctly; also inspect the defrost drain tube, which might be clogged due to ice buildup, to remove it, you need to check the aluminum defrost heater strap, part number PS473194, to see if it is properly connected to the defrost heater; and check the defrost heater, part number PS2581596, to see of it is working properly. We hope this solves your problem!

Water dispenser not working. When the dispenser is depressed I can here a noise but no water is coming out. I've tried to disengage the water dispenser lock by holding down the dispenser but it did not fix the lockout. How can this be rectified? Also my freezer is not defrosting we have adjusted the temperature but frost keeps building up inside the freezer. Please advise on how this can be fixed.

Hello Michael, Thank you for the question. If you have a frost build it it could have caused the water lines to freeze over and not allow the water through to dispense. We suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat sense and Heater. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. For the Defrost Heater the circuit has continuity if the multimeter reads about 10 to 150 ohms. If the circuit has continuity, then defrost heater is working fine. If the defrost heater circuit does not have continuity, then defrost heater is faulty. We hope this helps!

water leaking out of refrigerator
In my specific appliance the water valve is located in the bottom right hand corner looking at it from the back. To get to it I remove the thin layer of cardboard the covers the back of the fridge. I then proceeded to disconnect the 1/4" copper tubing which is the water feed coming out of the wall. Then I removed the screws that hold the valve assembly in place. I took the water valve out and removed the electrical connections as well as the plastic tubing which feed the water dispenser and the ice maker. To install the new water valve it was just a matter of reversing steps.
