Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly

Only reason I am giving it a 4 star rating is because it’s too soon to tell. My husband installed it easily and it started making ice. So happy to have a working ice maker again.

The ice maker fit and was easy to install. PartSelect uses FedEx ground and it takes about a week to the East Coast with standard shipping. This was a replacement for one I previously bought from PartSelect and was guaranteed a year. The way the guarantee works is that I purchased a new ice maker at today's price and sent the broken one back to be credited for the original price I paid. FedEx lost it but Pierre at PartSelect credited my account anyway.

New icemaker only took 10 minutes to change. Took about 6 hours for it to start making ice but all is good now. I highly recommend this part if needed.

The icemaker on my 10-year old refrigerator finally gave up the ghost. I looked on Part Select with the model number found on the inside of the refrigerator, and found that a replacement icemaker was available to fit the model of refrigerator I had. I ordered one, and in less than a week it arrived. Two machine screws later, the old one was off. The new one fit perfectly - although I did have to take it off once to make sure the water line was tucked into the top of the icemaker. After reconnecting the power and the water line at the wall, off it went. It filled immediately, and shortly after that I had ice. A couple weeks later, everything is still working perfectly. DIY is so satisfying, and costs a LOT less than having a service tech fix the exact same problem with a part ordered from Part Select.

It works great! Before I installed it, I pried the front cover off with a flat tip screwdriver in the side slot., Adjusted the screw to make more ice, sooner (turn screw out). I use a lot of ice. Then replaced the cover (snaps on) I also removed the metal "L" shape piece from the old ice maker, and installed it on the new one, so that I could adjust it to make the ice maker level. Then I reconnected the wiring plug, reinstalled the two 1/4" screws (used a wrench with an extension), that holds the ice maker to the freezer, adjusted the "L" shape metal to make the ice tray level, and tightened the 1/4" screw. Lowered the metal rod (that you would raise, to stop making ice), and it's been making ice ever since. Thank You!

Order the replacement ice marker for the Frigidaire side by side. Part came in a couple of days. 30 minutes to install, few hours later a full box of ice.
