remove back cardboard panel, cut off water supply, remove screws holding valve to back of refrigerator, unscrew water lines & reattach to same fittings on new valve, screw new valve in place, replace cardboard cover.

Remove back cardboard panel at bottom of refrigerator. 4 Remove 2 screws holding in the valve assembly at bottom right. 5. best way I found to remove hoses (all color coded) is to cut with razor knife at the white collar. cut clean and square. 6. disc ... Read more onnect electrical (also color coded) 7. connect hoses to valve assembly by pushing hose firmly into hole. If you are familiar with PEX then this is the same. Reconnect electrical. Reconnect to refrigerator... 3,2,1 your done. It will take a couple cycles to get the air out of the lines.

Followed the instructions from another person in the Part Select water valve section and from the video on the same page. Excellent instructions and very easy installation. Water dispenser and ice maker began performing properly as soon as the refrigerator was plugged back in to the power.

Pulled out the fridge from the wall, unplugged it, and turned off the water supply. Took off the cardboard backing at the bottom of the fridge. Cleaned the dust and gunk. Unscrewed the old valve. Read more e nipples, and inserted the ends of the water lines into the new connections (they were super easy - just push the line in until it clicks). Reattached the valve. Reattached the cardboard. Turned water back on, and plugged in the fridge. Our ice maker still didn't make cubes, though. So I took out the fill valve from the top rear of the fridge. It had a tiny piece of ice lodged in the bend of the back, right above where it connected to the water line. I rinsed it out, reinstalled, and now we have a full bucket of ice!!

watched the youtube video from PartsSelect and was able to remove old water inlet valve easily and install new one with little effort. The hoses on my refrigerator were a bit different than shown in video, but I was able to modify them and it's working just fine now. Thank you PartsSelect !

The changing of the water valve was pretty straight forward. First shut the water off to the ice maker, then pull the refrigerator out. Reattached the cardboard covering pushed refrigerator back and place turn on supply line and waited for the ice maker to fill up. After several cycles on the ice maker I made one slight adjustment on the ice cube size behind the cover of the ice maker. Total time one hour, then waiting for the ice maker to cycle a few times to ensure all was working properly.

Had a leak every night from refrigerator couldn't understand where from. Went on line and found some articles. I was referred to this sight by ads the articles and then in how to. Turn off water supply and electrical cord unplug then remove cover behind refrigerator vacuum and clean then. Water makes a mess so clean dry first. Then mark your hoses to remember order. Next remove old inlet and put in bucket it's pressure clamps so push in and it locks I chose to suction pipes and check for damage to pipes pin holes etc next I inserted into new inlet in order. At that time I turned water valve on checked for leaks at initial insert and new inlet. Next I plugged in unit cord. Waited. No leaks so far left for 30 minutes ran ice machine and water dispenser waited 20 minutes no leaks yet. Unplugged refrigerator unit. Installed the inlet completely to base and closed back paper panel after wiping water. Waited 24 hours then smiled no leak. Job done so far 2 weeks all clear. Hope this helps you will need screws driver and wrench for copper or main line I did find same part for less but this sight help me with good instructions the one they provide is for engineers architects lol not me I'm DYI

I was able to take away the trim covering the parts with a nutdriver. The base was disconnected using a phillips head screwdriver. The only real issue was how to disconnect the plastic water lines from the old base and connect them to the new one. I finally realized I just had to cut the lines where they entered the filter base because ... Read more they would not pull out. I then finally understood that to install them into the new base I just had to push them in securely. The lines were long enough to do this but probably would not be long enough to install another filter base. In that event I do not know what all would have to be done. The leak had been going on for years (it only leaked when water was running to the ice machine or water dispenser). It is great having it repaired and we hope to get quite a few more years out of this old fridge.

found the coil to be frozen like a block of ice. defrosted same, then looked up what defrost thermastat i needed and once it was received, i took the back of the freezer compartment off again, (two hex nuts, one on each end, and a small screwdriver to remove guard around fan. once this was removed, you then remove this panel, and you will ... Read more see the evaperator coil, which will be frozen like a block of ice like i said. then remove defrost therm(small round piece with two wires connected to unit, disengage and re engage new thermostat. then put unit back!. no more freeze ups.also, therm was on top right of evaPERATOR. IT also snaps off on the bottom of thermastat. (just pull to or away from you and it should come off.

Installed new valve.There are several pieces of tubing coming off of the valve. Pay close attention to where they go. Color coordination is poor on the new valve.

Turned off the refrigerator, removed the bottom drawer from refrigerator, then removed the glider bars for the drawer on the left side where the filter chamber is. Read more erything was exposed we removed the inlet and outlet lines from the filter base by pushing in the nobs inside the base and pulling the lines out with some slight elbow grease. After that we just proceeded in reverse. We plugged the filter in after the base was secure to make sure that the fix worked. The repair worked like a charm, was relatively simple and now our fridge is all better with water and ice without a large repair bill :o)

Removed old water pump and cut off ends of all lines. Plugged them into each water inlet/outlet and turned it on. Instant water to dispenser but took about 6 hours for ice maker to get water. Had to prime the ice maker. Works great and saved a lot of money ordering parts from you. Thanks.

I followed previous directions, and would recommend them! Briefly, I removed the plastic covers for the water filter, water tubes, temperature control switches to allow removal using a screwdriver and a nutdriver(I think)to remove the hexagonal screws. It was a bit tricky, and took the bulk of the repair time, but they came lose once enough pressure was applied. I took out the old filter base, put in the new one, attached the water lines, and put back all the covers. Everything comes apart very easily, and went back together very easily. A simple repair that had us back in ice and filtered water within an hour!
