I googled the problem, read the recommendation found the part and read that it was an easy fix. Took the broken part off the door and noticed the broke off piece was in the latch on the machine. Ordered the two parts, paid the $30 2-day delivery. Parts arrived and the machine was up and runnning in under 5 minutes

Washer door always needed to be slammed to shut and finally the latch broke.
Unscrewed the two screws holding the latch and screwed on the new one. Took less than 5 minutes. The best part was that I ordered the latch on Friday and it was delivered on Saturday!

The end of the door latch broke off in the door lock.
I removed the two screws holding the door latch and replaced with the new latch. Then I removed the two screws holding the door lock holder. I removed the holder with the door lock attached to it. The door lock has a wiring harness plugged into the lock. I unplugged the wire from the lock, and secured the wire as not to lose it back into the inside of the machine. I removed the screws holding the lock to the holder and installed the new lock back on to the holder. I plugged in the wire plug onto the new lock and installed the holder and lock assembly back onto the machine. I tested the machine and it worked perfectly!
