To determine if the filter element needs to be replaced check for visible signs of damage or excessive dirt buildup. A damaged or clogged element restricts airflow and allows dirt and debris to enter the engine resulting in reduced performance. To replace the filter element unhook the retaining clips and detach the end caps of your air cleaner housing from the machine. Remove the old element from the housing and insert the new one. Refer to your user manual for any specific installation instructions. Please note that this OEM-sourced filter element is sold individually and separately from the safety air filter element.

This is an original replacement part manufactured for use with Kohler small engines. The flanged hex nut is typically used as a fastener on the governor control assembly. This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with Kohler small engines. The valve springs are used to compress when the valve is open and extend to close the valve. The intake and exhaust valves use this spring, and it is sold individually.

The governor cross shaft seal goes next to the plain washer. This part is made of plastic and is available individually. It is an authentic OEM sourced item which is specially produced for use with engines made by Kohler and Toro. A set of pliers may be required to replace this part if it becomes broken.
