Ice accumulation inside the ice dispenser.
  • David from Raleigh, NC
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
I watched the Utube video, repeated the process at home while awaiting the part, and installed the flapper door in about 15 minutes after it arrived--piece of cake. The hardest part was removing the escutcheon plate on the front of the freezer door. I figured out I could slide a putty knife under it and the rest of the project was compl eted in no time at all.

Frost inside freezer door and water dispenser line freezing
  • James from Marietta, GA
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
I followed the video instructions (very helpful) and used others comments for removing the control panel. For the latter I used a small allen wrench to carefully wedge the bottom two indents (look from below panel edge) slightly up and forward to release the panel. Next, after removing the four screws, the assembly (housing shield) remove d fairly easily. I then had full access to the flapper and removed this carefully with the pliers so as not to damage the piece it was attached to (Dispenser Door Recess Crank?). The rubber outer flange on the otherwise plastic flapper was very irregular for approx. 1/4 of the circumference and thus did not seal. So far it's been one week and no more frost build up or frozen water dispenser line.

My despenser water reservoir leaked at the seam, causing water to alway puddle at the bottom of the inside space
  • Frank from Novi, MI
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
I had read from your sight, to simply cut the lines at the reservoir and tape the new lines to the old. Then use the old lines to pull/feed the new lines to the coupler/valve. This worked great and greatly decreased the time it took to install. I spent more time moving out the frig and cleaning up all the dust (probably should do that more often)

Air leaking into freezer through door dispenser
  • Ray from Fredericksburg, VA
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
I followed the video instructions. They were clear and consise. I removed the trim ring and controls. Them removed the housing and flapper. I did notice a small burr in the plastic chute and foam insulation. I trimmed this off with a utility in hopes this burr caused the flapper to warp. This is the 2nd time the flapper has been replaced in 1.5 yrs. The repair was really easy thanks to the video.
