turn off water. turn off electricity. empty freezer section of frozen food. remove ice bucket. loosen two screws holding IM to wall of refrigerator. lift off icemaker, and then unplug it as you remove it. INSTALL new IM by: putting new water funnel onto new IM. attaching adapter cord to IM. plug in IM electrical cord to refrigerato ... Read more r and then hang the new IM onto the two loosened screws on the refrig wall. Now tighten the two screws. the extra adapter electrical cord hangs below the new IM, but does not get in the way when you reinstall old ice bucket. reload food, turn on elec and water. PS. i had a crack in the casing of the new IM, so i got a new one, but that one was cracked too. so i just installed the second cracked one. hope it is not a problem.

remove the 'pop-out " frame around the door recess, you pry the flexable seal from around the ice despenser, have someone hold the unit with the wiring, remove the one screw that holds the door recess, and replace the new one. reverse the procedure. remember to unplug thr frig. first

install icemaker water was allways delivered to previous unit water is not being delivered to icemaker still having difficulty

really simple,take 2 nuts loose pull the hose out and then replace.took less than 30 minutes

Went to GE website and researched the problem for the model, determined that it was 90% sure it was the Ice maker, I ordered it and it arrived the next day, installed it and it began working immediately,

Watched the video from your site and followed instructions, extremely easy after that.

Repair went exactly like the video. With this video it was easy to make the repair. There were no surprises or problems and I felt confident in the videos instructions. It was like pushing the easy button.

Snapped off the plastic plate covering the dispenser. Removed the four screws holding the mechanism in place. Remove the electrical connections. Pull the mechanism out and up carefully pulling the dispenser pad out with all the mechanism in place. Look at the mechanism before removing any parts to get a mental image so that reassembly ... Read more will be easy. Remove any electrical switch or circuit boards and remove old parts before submerging the mechanism in hot soapy water for clean-up. The Clean-up will take longer than the disassemble and reassembling. After completion the dispenser works as it should.

Took out one hex screw, disconnect electric couplings, pulled original ice maker out and found that the water supply line to the ice maker was frozen solid as well as the shute cup. Used hair dryer to thaw out the line and the cup reinstaled old ice maker and it worked fine. Did not have to use the new part at all at this time. Am keeping ... Read more new part for future use.

took 1 screw out and removed ice maker and slid new one in and replace screw and connected power cord

Your Video really made it easy, showing the actual replacment of the part. However I did have one problem, which was I could not unplug the panel just by pulling on the plugs. A locking catch is on each plug so I just moved the panel out of the way.

Reviewed video which was very helpful. Loosened two philips head screws, lifted up ice maker, unpluged power suppy and reinstalled. One of the easiest replacements ever!!

After what I thought was a thorough troubleshooting of said problem I replaced the Water Valve Assy which was really easy as the video shared, but it did not fix my problem. I had forgotten to pull the water line apart at the coupling below the doors (this was a troubleshooting step in another area). The water not dispensing was due to ... Still no ice though. Ice maker vs mother board at the rear of the fridge, Hmmmm. Went with the ice maker, watched video, ole Steve makes the plugs disconnecting look easy, I had to use a flat head screwdriver to open the clips (he doesn't mention that) and I had 4 screws where he had 3. Also he didn't mention about the instructions which gives you 3 options with your unit. I had to re-use my Plastic Stripper Plate along with the Fill Cup and Ice Maker Insert. After completion of installation and about a half hour later, I heard ice fall, Wooohoooo!!! Overall the experience will make me think to utilize PartSelect again when needed. Reasonable prices and decent shipping time. Now the freezer light is out...

Followed the video demo and would have been done sooner but for limited work space- narrow freezer compartment and the release tabs on the electrical plug. First home repair that the air was not blue and got done in under time allocated.
