It took longer to remove the ice bucket and frozen food than it did to replace the ice maker. Remove one screw with a 1/4" nut driver, slide outward and remove plug. transfer water tube to new unit. plug it in, slide into rear slots and install one screw. Replace ice bucket and frozen food, shut the door and hear ice falling in about 30 min. Easy job! Great product! THANKS MJS

I was then able to remove the Icemaker by unhooking it from the bcak freeze wall. I disconnected the icemaker from the fan gaurd. Removed the icemaker co ver. unscrewed the 3 icemaker screws and opened up the chamber. removed the old Ejector Blade Drive Cam by removing the outer srew that hold the gear to the icemaker. changed the cam with the new one and reassembled everything.

Icemaker stopped cycling and wouldn't make ice

  • Alan from Raleigh, NC
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins

I removed the lower screw (not needed for the new icemaker), loosened the 2 top screws, unplugged the wire harness and removed the old icemaker. Unpacked the new icemaker assembly from the box, wiped the ice cube depressions to remove any debris, snapped on the water tube adapter, hung the new assembly on the 2 loosened upper screws and t ightened the screws. The wire harness required the supplied pigtail plug which made the wire assembly long and awkward to replace the ice bucket/dispenser assembly, plugged it in and was done. It took a total of about 10 minutes for the entire operation and had a full bin of ice cubes within 36 hours and was ready for the ice dispenser/crusher in the freezer door. Easy install!

Firts I removed the food from the freezer. Then I used the cordless drill/screw driver to loosen the broken piece of plastic. I inserted the plastic shield and screwed the shield in place. The majority of time was spent removing and replacing the food from the shelf.

Finding the part was made so easy by this website. I wish I h ad done it years ago but because I am not handy, I didn't think I could do it. Reading how easily others did it convinced me to try.
