First I cut the power to the stove. Then I unscrewed the two screws. Pulled the element out a few inches. I had to use pliers to disconnect it from its wires. It was a very tight fit. Then I reconnected the new element. Cut the power back and and fired her up. Boy did she burn like fire.

First I turned off power to the range at the fuse box (very important-The last time I didn't do this and ended up paying a repairman $150.00 to replace the damaged connectors). I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. I then connected the new ele ment, pushed the element back in and replaced the screws. Turned the power back on and tested the element. The whole job took about 30 minutes because I had trouble disconnecting the old element. I used the flat end of the scrapper to push against the connector while I pulled the element out. Normally it would take only about 15 minutes.

I unplug the stove first. Then took off two screws that held the bake element in place. Pulled off the connectors using the pliers. Had to use pliers because they were really snug. Plug in the wires to the new base element. Crimped down the connectors a little bit to make sure they were snug. Inserted the bake element back into the holes at the back of the oven. Put the two screws back in. Plugged the oven back in and turned it on to make sure it worked. Lastly, tossed the old bake element in the trash. Really easy job. Glad I didn't pay anybody to do this.

My husband has moved out of state for his job. I am left here with the children until the house sells. This is the first time I have ever had to do any oven repair. I had excellent and fast service - my part came right away. I took out the 2 screws holding the element in place, pulled the element out, disconnected the old element, connect ed the new one, pushed it back in, and replaced the screws. No problem at all. I was a little nervous turning it all back on, but it is working perfectly!

Right rear burner under glass no longer would heat

  • John from Maple Valley, WA
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins

Turned off power to cooktop and double checked
Lifted up entire cooktop and rested it on two pieces of wood that spanned gap underneath
Removed screws from around edges to free the metal framework that holds the cooktop in place-- this requires spinning the cooktop a bit to get access to the back.
Lifted metal framework off
Lifted glass from cooktop off
Checked configuration of power plug ins against new part and noted where they should go. There was a slight difference of how plugs were arranged, but it was easy to logic out.
Removed old burner unit and plugged in new one. Ensure that nothing was touching contacts.
Replaced the glass top onto cooktop
Put metal frame back in place and screwed in
Lifted entire cooktop, removed boards, and lowered back into place

Element in oven would not adjust to the oven temperature.

I ordered the temperature sensor after watching the video and seeing how easily it could be changed out. Unfortunately, they don't tell you that it may be necessary to access the part from the back. When I tried removing the sensor from inside the oven the connection separated before getting to the hole. I tried for 4 days to try to fi sh out the other end. Finally, I had my brother help me remove the oven from the wall and take the back off at which time we were able to connect the new sensory. It turns out that the wiring is on the upper right hand corner of the oven and the sensor is on the upper left hand corner and the wiring is rather short. I am a 64 year old female and do the majority of repairs around the house myself, but due to the weight of removing the oven I enlisted the help of my brother. After removing from the wall the rest was a breeze. Just wish the videos or written info on the website was a little more clear as to the different ways of accessing the damaged part.

Oven door was locked, couldn't set oven temps
1 person found this instruction helpful.
  • William from Nashville, TN
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
Got a bent metal coathook to temporarily release the oven door, removed the screws from the old probe, inserted the new one, and hooked it up, using the one of the plug adapters provided. Problem solved! The oven door latch was now disengaged, the oven would now accept temperature inputs, and the rear cooling fan (which wouldn't shut off) now turned off. That's a lot of things working better for less than $50!

Replaced Burned-out Cooktop Element

  • Seth from Old Orchard Beach, ME

  • 15 - 30 mins

Exact fit, but read the instructions! Male connectors on element are labeled 1A 1B 2A 2C, very faintly etched in the ceramic. Even though the old and new elements look the same (and I took photos to aid installation), the connector locations are different -- 1A on the old element is where 2B on the new one is, etc. Used included exten sion wire for one that would not reach with the new configuration and everything works perfectly.
