Put in a new foot / bumper. That's it.

New burner cap replaced old; just placed over burner; no tools required.

One suggestion: burner cap should have been shipped with thicker bubble protection (easy to do). It was minimally wrapped and placed in a thin, bubble envelope, risking damage in shipping process. Luckily, the burner arrived in tact and usable.

Just lifted old burner off with my fingers and replaced with the new one. What needs to be focused on here is the fact that Part Select has such a complete line of parts rather than the difficulty in the install.

The following are steps in replacing a burner electrode for GE Profile Cook Top Model PGP7030DL1BB
1. Shut off gas and unplug electrical plug
2. Remove all stove grates and turn on knobs
3. Remove all burner covers
4. Remove all screws [three for each burner]
5. Remove two screws near front by removing rubber gra ... Read more te grommets
6. Carefully Lift off stove cover and set aside
7. Remove shield near back of stove top. This exposes all burner wires
8. Remove electrode to burner which does not lite by sliding out clip at bottom of electrode—note color code of wire and replace with same. Change one electrode at a time to insure wire color code is correct.
9. Reassemble in reverse order of steps 1-8

So for years have been struggling with this burner. Technicians could not figure out the problem. Then one day, I noticed that the top cover did not sit properly on the burner. Lifted up the burner with the cover on it and noticed that the burner itself was warped and deformed. The top cover never sat evenly on the burner. Ordered a ... Read more new burner and put it in and presto. The burner work properly for the first time since we bought the stove. So, check the burners and see if the top cover sits evenly on the burner.

It only required placing the new burner in the proper location.

I got really great customer service on finally getting the right part. It came really fast it fit perfect but the cap is a high gloss black instead of a flat black. I will need to call customer service again to see if they can the correct color this time.
Otherwise everything was great!
