bake element burnt out

I looked for the proper part on this site. I was even able to find a video on how to install the part. It was great to see the step-by-step directions and tools needed. I ordered the part. It came quickly so that I was able to get my oven repaired before my kids came home for spring break. The only problem I had was the old screws were re ally stuck on. I used some WD-40 and they were still quite stuck. I learned that by gently going back and forth with the nut driver, rather than just trying to turn in the correct direction, that the screws came out quite easily. I felt so proud to be able to fix my own stove and save money in the process! Very satisfying for a single mom. Couldn't have done it without the video directions.

My oven element broke in half and looked charred

I flipped the 220 circuit breaker to shut off the electricity. I unscrewed the old element (2 screws). One problem I ran into was that there was insulation packed tight around the old wire, so when I went to pull it out one of the connectors came undone. So I had to take the small plate off the back of the stove and fish the wire back through. I connected the new wires and screwed the element to the back. I only needed a square head screw-driver for the whole job. It would've taken me 5 minutes if I wouldn't have had to fish the wire back through. Still, it only took around 20 minutes and was really easy. The element cost me less than half of what an appliance repair shop charged. I'm a woman, and I've never attempted anything like this before but the video made it so easy to do! Thanks for saving me a bundle of money!

My part was the oven burner for my Tappan stove. I followed a very helpful you tube video. All I had to do was use 1/4" screw-type screwdriver (not sure what you call it), remove screw, pull out each side, pull part away from wire; and then insert the new oven burner!! SIMPLE and I'm a 68-year old widow! I was proud.

For an electrical appliance, it doesn't get easier then this, this was real easy.

I removed both baking racks, unscrewed two screws holding the old element in place, pulled out element about 1 1/2 inches, removed the wires off of each end of the element, then replaced with new element in reverse order. That was it. Had time to play 18 holes of Golf!

Loosen 2 screw with a 1/4 nut driver. Pulled element out to expose connections. Carefully disconnected old element and replaced with new element. Pushed wires back into holes and replaced the screws. (Note: Be careful not to let the disconnected wires slip back through the holes. This almost happen to me)
